She was shooting for her life though, a real heroine.
I never suspected she was a junkie. She looks so clean and fresh faced.
I think Cecil the lion was a gay Lion so put a arrow throw his ass.
The lion, cecil, was tame and used to contact with humans. He was famous for not being afraid of humans! The scum dentist is going down and I will celebrate! He’s already hiding under a rock where he belongs.
Why, that's a bargain!
The tame lion was lured out of the animal sanctuary with a dead animal tied to a car. Cecil followed. Why not just go to a zoo and shoot in the cage? What a great hunter.
The farmer and the Professional Hunters and guides should be the ones to keep him out of trouble--it is their licenses on the line.
Yeah, the dentist screwed up in the past, but I would think that would make him even less inclined to create an international incident and be a white man risking being stuck in a prison in Zimbabwbe when it just doesn't cost much more (if any) to have a lawful hunt, with the correct permits and licenses, with all 'i's dotted and 't's crossed.
Obviously, the whole thing is pretty crazy, but I think he knows it now.
He lured him out of a famous animal sanctuary. This was not his first rodeo. He also was in trouble for fishing without a license before the incident with the bear and who knows how many more he did not get caught at.
Palmer couldn’t wait to display a lion in his special shrine. It has over 50 heads in it and he has a bar in there where he has drinks and admires his handiwork and brings people to show off to. The lion was to be the icing on the cake to his collection. He uses his wife’s family money to finance everything. He won’t be keeping Cecils head. Tough luck!
Or did an employee of or one of the guides/professional hunters?
Bottom line: their integrity is on the line, and they always have the option to play by the rules. It is their home turf, and they should know the rules and insist on abiding by them.If rules were broken, the place to start gigging people is right there to discourage other guides and professional hunters from breaking the rules or letting their clients do so.
Bait is not individual animal specific, although it may well appeal to a specific species.
Once the lion leaves (any lion), if it is in an area where there are permits legally obtained and all other rules are complied with, it is fair game.
If you have never had to tell a client (whatever you do) that you would not do something that did not comply with the law, I feel sorry for you. If you are the professional, it is up to you to make sure they know what the laws are.
Yes, it can cost you money in the short run, but in the long run you are better off. I don't need unscrupulous clients anyway. They are a liability, and can cost you your reputation.
The striped critters’ problem was not Cecil. Their problem was Cecil’s wives. They went to work while Cecil sunned himself. From time to time, they took down a zebra or two, permitting Cecil to elbow them aside and gorge himself and, with his wives, make more lions and lionesses. Cecil was a slacker! A proper king of the beasts!
Yes they went hunting at night with a spotlight at the sanctuary and spotted cecil, and lured him out of the park, where he was protected by law, with a dead animal dragged from the car. Cecil followed. Palmer then took his bad shot, the lion took off wounded, and they tracked him for 40 hours, then he shot him and the lion was skinned and beheaded. Then they attempted to hide the tracking collar. He wanted a lion in his collection so bad! Then he pins it on the guides.
And cecil being such a gorgeous animal...all Palmer could see was that head in his special building, behind the bar.
And littering. And creating a public nuisance.
His own friend said he was getting more brazen about how he “hunted.” The guy was getting older and probably does not have what it takes to legally hunt. His next stop is the zoo to bag some animals from the cages.
He is the public nuisance!
he’d probably wade thru hurricane water; carrying a case of green bottled beer...
It probably is a bargain if you want a shot at a lion in the wild that bad. Unless I had huge bucks I’d never consider it. And until Mugabe is gone, never in Zimbabwe.
Tame? You have to be a lib or a Supreme Court Justice the way words are defined. A lion with a name should've been smarter. Of course he wasn't afraid of people, he was a lion in an unnatural environment.
They also used a spotlight to blind the lion....also illegal. After the illegal kill, the dentist wanted to go elephant hunting the next day. He did not feel bad at all. He can’t hunt now and he must be going out of his mind jonsing for blood!
