This gives Trump an excuse to make an even grander gesture. Wonder what he’ll come up with.

You’ve got to laugh at this. He hadn’t checked out if he could do it, and yet he had nothing to lose. He gets to do it and he’s a favorite. He doesn’t get to do it and he gets even more press.

Maybe he can find a way ot give rides at the local airport.

At any rate this whole thing wreaks of a carnival side show.

Lets just hope P. T. Barnum doesn’t have the last laugh.

They could land smack dab in the middle of the Race Track. Plenty of room there. People could sit in the grandstands and watch it take off and land.

What are they going to do? Shoot it down?

No. The Iowa State Fair became a gun free zone a few years back. It keeps us all safe ya know.

That is so 1980s looking.

Does it come with it’s own casket?

Does she get discounts if she reads ten gas, electric, or water meters on her trip?

Does it come with a fork lift for easy mounting and dismounting?

Does it have curtains for when Huma is in town?

Does it have a snap down cow catcher so small children or old people won’t get stuck in the undercarriage when she runs them over?

Does it get better than 4 MPG?

Does she do without air conditioning to save the environment?

Is it a hybrid?

Does it run on electricity?

Does it have special filters so Al will be happy?

Is this really the message we should be sending our children, driving around in a non aerodynamic black brick accessory to her clothing like that?

He can still do the copter rides outside the fairgrounds. I think this would probably be a huge insurance liability for the fair and the reason they denied it.

No he may not! Unless he gives Jebbie one of his other choppers to give rides in, too.

The decision-making guy at the fair, Gary Slater (whom I know), says no such request has been made yet, and with two weeks until the fair opens, it can’t happen anyway.

The problem is space. The fairgrounds is in town, not level, and surrounded by residential areas. Largest open space is the race track/main stage, which already has stuff set up.

He could wave enough cash around and might get a private party nearby with space, but it’s a big ‘copter and the room isn’t there on the fairgrounds that isn’t long ago accounted for.

Most fairs have their booths, and rides scheduled years in advance. I think Trump can still pull this off somehow. Maybe not at the fairgrounds, but............

I like that, and I don’t see why that option wasn’t offered.

That must be a large area.

Absolutely. The fair board isn’t going to halt a huge swath of parking. They’d be lynched. But landowners not far outside the grounds would be happy to make a deal, if they had the space.

What you said makes sense. It looks phony unless your acquaintance comes up with an alternative location for those helicopter rides.

That's the Art of the Deal. Otherwise, it's like killing Santa Clause if he just says "no" to the generous gift.

Well, first Trump needs to talk to the guy in charge instead of the media.

He said “no” before he spoke to Trump? Why would he say anything except “nobody asked me”?

As a several time Iowa State fairgoer, there is not room. No politics about it. Every square inch is accounted for-vendors, rides, whatever.

Supposedly Trump is going to get in front of a big crowd. I heard he is going to introduce Def Leppard at their show in front of the grandstand. I think that will be a crowd of around 8000 people. Ya gotta figure Def Leppard fans (based on the demographics of DL fans)would generally be receptive to Trump

A fair spokesman said the answer would be no based on fairgrounds space allocation which is contracted years in advance.

Just too risky, any accident with one of those kids
and that would be the end of Trump.

I don’t think he’ll be the nominee but he IS bringing
up topics that need to be discussed AND he is in the
face of those who try to manipulate him as the media
has been accustomed to do.
