Ted Cruz: "Sen. Cruz: McConnell-Reid Leadership Team Operates for One Party: The Washington Party
Senator Ted Cruz Press Rekease ^ | July 26, 2015 | Ted Cruz

AMERICAN PEOPLE ELECTED A REPUBLICAN MAJORITY BELIEVING IT WOULD SOMEHOW BE DIFFERENT FROM A DEMOCRATIC ONE

WASHINGTON, D.C. – After speaking on the Senate floor today, U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) issued the following statement:

“We’ve just seen something extraordinary on the Senate floor. The American people elected a Republican majority believing that a Republican majority would be somehow different from a Democratic majority in the United States Senate. Unfortunately, the way the current Senate operates, there is one party, the Washington party.

“Senate leadership consists of the McConnell-Reid leadership team. They operate as a team. They support the same priorities. If you look at what has occurred in the United States Senate since the Republicans took a majority, we immediately returned after winning a historic majority to pass a trillion dollar ‘cromnibus’ bill filled with corporate welfare and pork. Then, the so-called Republican majority voted to fund Obamacare. Then, the so-called Republican majority voted to fund President Obama’s unconstitutional executive amnesty. Then, the so-called Republican majority voted to confirm Loretta Lynch as attorney general. Then, just moments ago, the so-called Republican majority voted to reauthorize the Export-Import Bank, an egregious example of cronyism and corporate welfare.

“Every one of those is the priority of the Democratic leader Harry Reid

Please name a couple of candidates who aren’t ‘the lessor of two evils’.

OK, I’ll settle for the name of even one.

Well.....

I guess we could start with Senator Ted Cruz, right?

I say burn the Republican house down. If that means voting for Trump, then so be it.

“Cruz.”

Wow, OK.

I thought the last person on earth who could make that claim was Jesus Christ.

Slavery and the Missouri Compromise destroyed the Whigs. In 1852 they were so divided they didn’t give Millard Fillmore a second term, going with General Scott.
By 1856 they were defunct. Young politicians like Abraham Lincoln actually sat out politics for a while.
The Whigs were only vital for a couple decades but their demise was comparable to the present. The Democrats are purging Thomas Jefferson. Inscribed on his monument, his words, “I tremble to think that God is just.”
Slavery then, a ghoulish culture of institutionalized unborn childrens’ death now.
All the signs are there for anyone who will open their eyes to see.

Pardon me But the last I heard Jesus Christ is not living on this earth among us yet.
That will happen at a future time.

I thought the last person on earth who could make that claim was Jesus Christ.

Well, you asked for a candidate that was not the "lessor of two evils". I provided you with one, probably the only one currently running.

His policy positions and loyalty and fidelity to conservative principles prove that.

You did not ask for someone who was perfect.

Try being honest next time.

But Cruz is perfect?

You didn't ask for someone that was perfect; you did ask for someone who could not be classified as "lesser of two evils".

Cruz DEFINITELY cannot be classified as the "lesser of two evils".

Did anyone here say he is perfect?
I don't recall anyone saying he is perfect.

BTW, This post will end my conversation with you
Apparently you simply want an argument and I don't
Therefore,
I bid you a good night.

I think Ted Cruz has a good chance to win the nomination. He’s raised a lot of money from the general public and he just got a huge donation from two Texas billionaires. The Republican lackeys do not realize how sick people are of their failure to act on their majority.

Ted Cruz is great in TV interviews, before crowds and in debates of all kind. He is likable ... a quality that is so important but not given enough credit to.

I haven’t lost hope that we can get a real candidate this time.

In the meantime, let Trump have his surge, and let him peak early, when he fades, then Cruz will be the beneficiary.

I don’t trust McConnell or any gop leadership.

I think McConnell and other gop leaders are just playing to the media and trying to make themselves look like they are doing something.

Think what Cruz said just this week about McConnell lying and also this from Cruzs book.

Cruz on leadership corruption and sellout......

That Tuesday lunch began with our leadership saying, “We’re asking every Republican senator here, to affirmatively consent to lower the threshold for Harry Reid to take up the debt ceiling, from 60 votes to 50 votes. And we were told, everyone of you should agree for two reasons.

Number one, if we do this, it will happen, and hallelujah, hallelujah, that’s what we want. We want trillions more in debt with no spending reforms, because we’re scared of this issue. We don’t want to have a political fight on this.

But number two, if we do this, the Democrats will have the votes to do it on their own, which means all of us Republicans can vote no. And we can go home and tell our constituents, we opposed the thing we just consented to allow happen.

Now, I was sitting there — to be honest, I hadn’t gone to lunch intending to pick a fight, but as I listened to that, I was astonished and I raised my hand, and I said, “There’s no universe in which I can consent to doing that. I spent two years campaigning across Texas, telling Texas, if you elect me, I’ll fight with every breath in my body to stop the out of control spending and debt that are bankrupting our kids and grandkids.”

If were to do that, I think it would be both dishonest and unfaithful to the men and women who elected me.

Our federal government is a creation of the states. When this creation gets out of control, then the states have the right to abolish it or change it.

Besides the three branches of federal government that we are aware of,
there exists a fourth branch which most people forget, it is the states. And actually, as mentioned above, this fourth branch has more power and authority than any of othe other three combined.

It is time for the fourth branch to assume it’s proper authority, and alter or abolish the other three.
