Ted Cruz: "Sen. Cruz: McConnell-Reid Leadership Team Operates for One Party: The Washington Party
Senator Ted Cruz Press Rekease ^ | July 26, 2015 | Ted Cruz

AMERICAN PEOPLE ELECTED A REPUBLICAN MAJORITY BELIEVING IT WOULD SOMEHOW BE DIFFERENT FROM A DEMOCRATIC ONE

WASHINGTON, D.C. – After speaking on the Senate floor today, U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) issued the following statement:

“We’ve just seen something extraordinary on the Senate floor. The American people elected a Republican majority believing that a Republican majority would be somehow different from a Democratic majority in the United States Senate. Unfortunately, the way the current Senate operates, there is one party, the Washington party.

“Senate leadership consists of the McConnell-Reid leadership team. They operate as a team. They support the same priorities. If you look at what has occurred in the United States Senate since the Republicans took a majority, we immediately returned after winning a historic majority to pass a trillion dollar ‘cromnibus’ bill filled with corporate welfare and pork. Then, the so-called Republican majority voted to fund Obamacare. Then, the so-called Republican majority voted to fund President Obama’s unconstitutional executive amnesty. Then, the so-called Republican majority voted to confirm Loretta Lynch as attorney general. Then, just moments ago, the so-called Republican majority voted to reauthorize the Export-Import Bank, an egregious example of cronyism and corporate welfare.

“Every one of those is the priority of the Democratic leader Harry Reid

Cruz gets it but he is basically standing alone in the senate despite Republicans having a majority.

What does the Lesser of two evils crowd do with this? I just got a comment saying I was “delusional” for saying Rudy would have moved the party left. He must also think Cruz is delusional.

Would love to see what he could do with a veto pen.

Go, Ted Cruz, stick it to them. He’s got nothing to lose from the GOPe, and every to gain from those of us who are sick of the Washington Party’s business-as-usual crap.

Ted has no chance to win the nomination this year as a corrupt GOP leadership needs replacing before we have any hope of a win. Luckily Mr Cruz is a young man and 2020 might be the year.

Sounds like he is all but saying there is a needs for a “new” national political party. That neither democrats not republicans can do the jobs they were elected to do. Can’t agree more.

This tells us everything we need to know about the Republican party at the federal level.

They are close to 100% DNC

Back in 2006ish, when the Republicans owned the White House, Senate, and House for the first time in generations, the trajectory of the Federal government changed not one arc second. Cruz is now telling us from the inside, plainly and articulately what we already know from the evidence.

Trump could blow the whole place up since he isn’t wholly owned by “special interests”. Cruz (et al) have to keep telling the truth, and not bowing down, and they will have tremendous support.

Cruz just cracked ‘his whip’ in the Senate today and Friday.... how Hastings and McConnell responded indicates they clearly got the message....both amendments were called as “out of order”....and Cruz basically stood alone.

So they’re saying to Cruz and any who are his allies.... you can’t play in our field.

Cruz went back to Washington to take care of Senate business. Walker went back to Wisconsin to take care of Governor business. I wonder if any of the other elected officials bothered to do what they were elected to do. Sen. Paul? Sen. Rubio? Sen. Graham? What did you do last week and this weekend?
Gov. Christie? Gov. Kasich? Gov. Jindal? What did you do last week and this weekend?

...and prostituting themselves with Corporations as they go.
So they get cash dumps from them and then from us....no wonder they want to keep their jobs!

Please name a couple of candidates who aren’t ‘the lessor of two evils’.

OK, I’ll settle for the name of even one.
