Real ‘Possibility’ Trump Runs as a Third Party Candidate
Breitbart.com ^ | July 20 2015 | Pam Key

Monday on AM 970’s “The Joe Piscopo Show,” pollster Frank Luntz suggested that since Republican presidential candidate and longtime Clinton friend Donald Trump refused to say he would endorse whoever got the Republican party nomination, it is a real “possibility” Trump is planning a third party run. This, as host Joe Piscopo pointed out, would allow Hillary to “walk right in” to the presidency and be an astonishing historical repeat, because Ross Perot’s third party candidacy is credited for President Bill Clinton’s victory over President George H.W. Bush in 1992.

If Yeb is the nominee, what would it matter?

This is not really historically accurate.

First of all, Perot drew from both parties--for example consider how a candidate in his Party won the Governorhsip of Minnesota, a State that leans Democratic.

Secondly, Perot was in a position to actually win--got up to around 30% in the polls, early in the campaign. Then he had a paranoid incident, dropped out, came back in, and fell to 19% in the final effort.

Perot did not know how to use TV correctly. In his speeches, he looked spaced out, reading from a teleprompter behind the camera. Trump would be far more likely to go extemporaneously, which if you know how, and can pull it off, is the way to use TV.

All of this said, do not take this in the wrong way. I am not ready to endorse anyone, but am leaning towards Senator Cruz; and I certainly hope that we can again capture the Republcan nomination.

You can get some green party folks I guess to thin the field, but let me make this clear. I will not be voting for any GOPe anymore and all the way up through Romney I was talking like YOU.
We got an all Republican House of surrender monkeys who all talked tough for 2 minutes than gave the left anything they wanted. Why vote into that?

Yeah, could likely get another Democrat in 2016 because the GOPe are trying to destroy all the PEOPLE'S candidates that aren't already into pay-off, back room deals.
I want no one Karl Rove approves of.
I want all the House and Republican leadership retired and to get some non surrender monkeys in office, if not what is the difference really between the back stabbing GOPe and a Sanders or Hillary?

Piscopo is hosting a radio show now?

I do think if the GOPe continues to p*ss him off Trump will take his millions and run third-party.

as a new yorker, I can see why a businessman would register as a Democrat or independent. My father had to switch parties and attend a fundraiser when he was in the post office to get a promotion. When my son was at the motor vehicle office and registered, the person behind the counter looked at his ‘Republican’ application and said something like, ‘we never see THAT here’.

Trump will never run, but if he did Hillary could get 70%, with all the facts that will come out about him. Trump would be a laughingstock.

Imagine all the commercials they would play with TV interviews Trump gave saying how great Hillary is.

Remember, the only reason Trump withdrew his endorsement of Obama is that he was mad Obama didn't make Hillary his VP.

He’s doing conservatives good now, but no one can be faulted for thinking he’ll turn on us.

It's not so much turning on us...as it is the fact that someone who's been one of us for 25 minutes is not suited to be our leader. I have serious reasons to think that Trump's liberal tendencies will sneak out at some point....it has to. He's been a liberal much longer than a conservative. It's great to have a conversion, but as an analogy...you don't want the newly saved running the church within a week....

If Hillary gives him a business offer in exchange for diluting the GOP vote, he'd turn on a dime. Trump doesn't give two sh*ts about anything but lining his pockets.

Give Luntz credit for sheer chuzpah.

Trump is besting every other Republican by double digits, according to the “mainstream” polls folks like Luntz love so well.

Seems kind of ridiculous to talk about your party’s frontrunner as a possible “third party” candidate.

*snicker*

But the world is turning for the worst in the hands of Hillary and Democrats and that is even why he is really running this time IMO.
No Jeb, F Jeb. Jeb can go become a Democrat, same difference.

Maybe for a businessman that's true...but I don't want your father as nominee either. We're way beyond the business man thing here.

Walker has a proven record in his state. Ask the union thugs who tried to recall him. He can win. The FReepers in Wisconsin love him.

There's no "could likely" about it. If Trump throws in as an indie, a landslide win for Hillary is assured. Now, that may be tantamount to a "see, I told you so" moral victory for some, but it does assure the country's slide to oblivion will continue unabated. Just so we all know what the consequences are.

This thread would be better if Piscopo- did his Sinatra impression. Or at least offered us some oh his steroids.

This is the same Joe Piscopo, right? I didn't realize he had his own radio show.

Trump claims to stand on principle. I see a conservative position on immigration, crony capitalism like we’ve never seen from a Presidential candidate, and a list of claims to conservatism that are, at best, spurious.

I think Trump might be too much of a misogynist to be able to abide Hillary calling the shots. I haven’t really heard him praise her in that way, more toward liking the way she stood by her man. Last time someone on the Democratic elite side must have flipped and Barack Obama got shoved down the voters throats, this time it looks like they lost.

You mean Trump us running because of Hillary? But he is tight with her. I’m sure it would help him to have an in with the president.

If Trump does this people will piss on his grave....

Millions of American's have already done that. You're going to piss on all their graves too?

That's like blaming the victim of brutal relentless beatings if they refuse continued support the perpetrator.
