Puerto Rico doesn’t want to be a state. Didn’t they vote on this fairly recently? What kind of issue is that to run on?

What’s Terri Schaivo’s take on this?

Why not have the Bush Dynasty BUY PR? They can afford to bail them out!

Quit pre-spending MY tax dollars on this stupidity! It’s bad enough I have to pay for Planned Parenthood. *SHUDDER*

I’ll never vote for Jeb, anyway. NEVER.

Puerto Rican voters chose not to alter the status quo in referenda held in 1967, 1993, and 1998.

It’s JEB that wants to change that!

Yes, I think you are right.

They have had referendums over the years on this subject. I don’t think they ever voted for statehood.

Officially, I think Puerto Rico is a “commonwealth” overseas possession of the United States, is that still true? Puerto Ricans are American citizens, but there are some areas, such as federal income tax, in which they are not held to the same laws as the rest of us, because PR is not a state.

I guess I don’t see why Puerto Rico can’t just stay with the same legal status. Nobody ever suggests that the Virgin Islands, Guam, American Samoa, etc. become states. Not sure why so many have pushed PR statehood.

It’s already been decided for us. Puerto Rico will become a state whether we like it or not. The next vote by the Puerto Ricans will be only two choices, statehood or independence. They have $70 billion debt. What do think they will vote for? The continuance of current status was removed by Congress, with Republican support.
¡Yeb! is simply stating GOP policy.

It was Cantor’s vote for Puerto Rican statehood that set me to work to remove him from office. I had started posting anti-Cantor signs all over his district before Dave Brat announced. We were very fortunate to get such a good man.

Great idea Jeb. Another welfare state and two permanent Dem senators. Just the swing vote our senate needs. Great thinking. . Let's hear your next thought.

Most Americans would be astounded at living conditions in Puerto Rico, especially outside of the Old Town district in San Juan.

USVI, Guam, etc are not in default and on the verge of bankruptcy.

Yeah, they have the best of the bargain. Jeb-boy seems obsessed with Hispanics to the exclusion of everybody else. It’s not healthy.

After that last referendum supporting continued commonwealth status the Uniparty decided they would have another one. This upcoming one will only have two choices. Independence or statehood.

I’m from Washington state. I don’t think that is really an issue out here, even with the liberals on the West side of the Cascades.

The other Bushes believed the same things; they simply weren’t “ideas whose time had come”.

(French Revolution reference intentional)

Jeb Bush reaffirms his support for Puerto Rico to become 51st state

Because what we need in this country is two more Democrat Senators and several more Democrat representatives, with another 3.62 million who vote for Government that won't control it's own spending.

This cannot possibly impact the nation badly.

All Hail to the brilliant Genius Jeb "Jebberish" Bush.

Just Shut the F**K up you stupid bastard! You are the LAST PERSON who needs to be opening his F***ing mouth.
