Jeb Bush reaffirmed the idea for Puerto Rico statehood on Tuesday during a visit to Puerto Rico, winning great applause.
The former Florida governor and 2016 GOP presidential prospect delivered a speech on economic opportunities peppered with Spanish.
He's fluent in the language, and often uses it in Florida, but it's rarely heard in Republican presidential campaign politics.

Ford, Reagan, and Bush were all on record favoring statehood, but nobody put any effort into making it a reality.
Jeb Bush is to Hispanics what Bill DiDumDum (mayor of NYC) is to ghetto blacks. Those 2 groups can do no wrong as far as these 2 imbeciles are concerned. And, they’d like their favorite groups to be launched into taking over the U.S. Jeb is definitely the loser of the litter, and has no business polluting the Presidential race. Unless they have a Loser Party. That one, he can proudly represent.
In the 1960's, liberal Democrats fell in love with everything black and adopted the motto "black is beautiful" when pandering to black voters. Jeb and other establishment GOPers are playing the same game, only now it's "brown is beautiful."
