Well, that’s what the photo is of, so it’s vulgar from the ground up.
Handing money to a drug-addicted, mentally-ill person is the opposite of helping them...I think a lot of people block out this fact because dropping money into a cup as they walk by is the easiest way to make themselves feel good. That said, with Proverbs 21:13 in mind, everyone needs to discern the best way they can help the poor and homeless.
All our complaints at our local retailers finally paid off. As I exited the parking area the other day - a sign - clear as day - Don’t give money to panhandlers. Finally, there was nobody there on the very small island where you have to stop to exit the parking lot.
I have expected to see a backlash, but so far, none have shown up.
NYC will once again become a place no one wants to visit.

Doubt there are enough white voters left in NYC to elect another Guiliani. Probably another Bloomberg is the best they can hope for.
Actually, hobos and bums are distinct groups, or at least were traditionally in America since the Depression. Hobos traditionally are homeless by choice, itinerant, may beg, but are willing to work as day laborers or take other short-term employment to earn money, and while they may drink when they have the money, are not drunks. Bums just beg, often in a menacing way, drink to excess or do drugs, and generally fit your description as detritus.
And, NYC subways have free entertainment on nearly every train. It would be very unusual to ride in a subway car without some bum walking through the train, from one car to the next, reciting some sob story and asking for money or food. This is up since DiDumDum became mayor, since his whole message is aimed at the bums, criminals, and illegals. The normal working people are just the cash cows he victimizes to fund his REAL constituents. BTW, only 24% of eligible voters bothered to go to the polls to vote. That is why this miserable piece of Commie offal is in office, along with his “ex” lesbian wife, druggie daughter and Chia-pet son.

The ACLU made her the Madelyn Murray Ohare of the psychotics. The courts ruled that street pyschos had a right to their “choice of life styles”.
Never mind that those that Koch had hauled in for temporary holds during sub-freezing temps weren’t fully aware of what planet they were on.
Last night I stepped over a couple of homeless people. Admittedly, I was below Times Square - an area that Bloomberg allowed to be turned into a sewer - but there was such a sign of decay in the area.
BTW, I lived 10 blocks from Billy Boggs and saw her every night while walking home from work. What a crazy bitch she was! Horrible, horrible. Poor Swenson’s - I don’t know how they dealt with it. A nice ice cream shop.
