Republican presidential candidate unloads on Fox News during Fox News interview
Business Insider ^ | Friday, July 10th, 2015 | Colin Campbell

Presidential candidate and Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-South Carolina) is furious about Fox News' rules for the first GOP primary debate.

In a Fox News interview on Friday, Graham blasted the right-leaning network's "dumb" rules, which will limit the participants to 10 candidates polling the best in an average of the five most recent national polls.

"I think that this is a dumb way to weed out the field," Graham declared.

Many critics say the August 6 debate's rules harm the candidates campaigning in the early voting states and elevate those who have been getting those most national TV exposure or who have run for president before.

With around 17 Republican candidates running, there will be a number of furious White House hopefuls left out of the crucial opportunity to be heard before a major television audience. Graham, who is lagging in national polls, clearly agrees with that assessment. He argued that July 2015 is too early to even pay attention to polls.

"Brad Pitt would be in the debate in August. Anybody with any celebrity would be in the debate," he said. "I don't mind weeding out the field over time."

"It's July for God's sakes!" he added. "So a national poll is a lousy way, in my view, to determine who should be on the stage. And I quite frankly resent it."

he is doing it to weed out the voters in the south carolina polls

he is counting on his name recognition to draw votes away from others to him

that way, a real conservative like Cruz will lose votes to Grahmnesty

“he cares nothing for fairness or what’s right but only getting his own sick ass up so he can pontificate.”

Well, he is a perfect representative and example
of his constituency. Those people cave on anything
and are both soulless and spineless. Just like everyone
wants to over look and ignore the criminal employers that
hire wetbacks as the #1 cause of illegal immigration they
too want to overlook the dolts that put this putz in office.

Just do a show of hands. “Ok which of is in favor of building a wall on the southern border”? It would be very efficient.

Too bad we don't live in Toon Land. There'd be a trap door under the candidate, and whoever didn't raise their hand would drop down and disappear.

Yes, Bush has all the money and that’s what’s necessary for the long haul. Even if Cruz matched it, they (GOPe) would find a way to kneecap him. So far he hasn’t matched it.
Trump is viewed as an amusing distraction who’ll remove himself sooner or later. Bush will be nominated. Hate to say it but that’s the view from here.
But Hillary winning in the general and going 8 years? Very doubtful. She couldn’t win the nomination in ‘08. She’s older (yes it sure does matter) and dirtier now.
What scares me most is the people who are voting for these candidates; the people who put Obama where he is.

17 Republican Candidates running is just a drop in the bucket. There are over 100 GOP
candidates that have filed the FEC Form 2 as a candidate for the GOP nomination.

The sense of entitlement runs strong in this one. Faux news is a private company and is providing a forum as they see fit. Is Linda going to argue that FR needs to provide his campaign equal bandwidth?

Rubbish!
Get this into your head : JEB BUSH WILL NOT GET THE NOINATION.
All this talk about Jeb Bush money, well, outside the Super PACks, he managed to raise only slightly more than Ted Cruz for the campaign itself( 11 million and change Bush to 10 million and change Cruz for the June quarter. In total Cruz has outraised Jeb Bush by about 3 million.) Even Bernie Sanders at 15 million, managed to beat Jeb Bush.
Trump has managed to overtake Jeb Bush an sharply reduce Bush's numbers without spending as much as a P penny in attack ads on Bush. He did it merely by using his tweeter and Facebook postings, yet somehow you think Trump will drop out after Super Tuesday? Dream on

I sympathize with Fox’s position. How do you have a meaningful debate with 15 candidates? Ridiculous.

Maybe 3 debates with 5 candidates? Maybe.

Or give each candidate a ONE HOUR window to present their case ....showcase them over 2 weeks on primetime. Hannity, for all his faults, at least gives the candidates a chance to speak.

Even better: 3 candidates at a time, for 5 days....sparring with one another.

It don’t matter how long they wait, Linda Graham will never make it to the top 10. He’d better stop wasting his time.

The plan will be for Biden to win the Dem nomination. That way Zero can still be in charge like Putin

Lindsay is throwing tantrums about the debates and Donald Trump ruining “Lindsay’s Republican Party”.

Poor tang. That seems to be the only way Lindsay can get attention. Yet, he still struggles to make 1% in most of the polls.

All those years of tag-teaming with McCain on the Sunday news-talk programs is not turning into groundswell support for Lindsay.

-- I don't like the media deciding whom the voters get to see and whom they don't. --

What is the alternative? Either the media decides (somehow) or some other entity decides (somehow), who will appear via the media's programming.

Yeah, I know. Just because I don’t like something doesn’t mean I can propose a good alternative.

Just being honest...without looking at the polls...guess the order. The following is reverse alphabetical. My sense is that there are a lot of people we naturally put at the bottom — and we do so because they should be at the bottom. Lindsay, Pataki, Kasich, Jindal, Huckabee, Perry, and Christi are NOT going anywhere. We know that in our gut. I would add Fiorini, but I think she has a shot at VP because of the nature of this year’s election.

Walker
Trump
Santorum
Rubio
Perry
Paul
Pataki
Kasich
Jindal
Huckabee
Graham
Fiorini
Cruz
Christi
Carson
Bush

I think the debate should be limited to five already declared candidates. Leave Graham, Walker and others at home. Seriously what good is 10 on the stage? In fact, why not just Bush III, Trump, Cruz? Presuming Cruz is in top 5. Last I looked, he barely and may not even make the top 10. Maybe we are left with Bush, Rubio, and Trump?
