Carbon-14 Found in Dinosaur Fossils

by Brian Thomas, M.S. *

New science directly challenges the millions-of-years dogma scattered throughout the blockbuster movie Jurassic World. The spring 2015 edition of the Creation Research Society Quarterly (CRSQ) is a special issue that focuses on the investigation of dinosaur proteins inside fossil bones. The last article in the issue presents never-before-seen carbon dates for 14 different fossils, including dinosaurs. Because radiocarbon decays relatively quickly, fossils that are even 100,000 years old should have virtually no radiocarbon left in them.1 But they do.

Jurassic World characters repeatedly mention "million years ago" in the context of their dinosaurs. In the movie, fictional scientists essentially resurrect and genetically redesign dinosaurs, pterosaurs, and even a giant mosasaur—creatures supposedly extinct for 65-75 million years.

It suggests the millions and millions of years of evolution we've been taught is wrong.

Either that or our ability to detect Carbon-14 has
improved...

There’s a surprise. Scientists don’t know sh! T.
but they know there isn’t a God.

poor creationists, grasping at every straw to prove a literal interpretation of a book written thousands of years ago by people riding mules and camels around the desert.

Careful there, Kimosabe. There are some people who hang out at FR who hate ICR with a bloody passion. My guess is that they don’t want to face the truth that each of us must answer to our Creator some day.

Why they completely ignore his loving mercy in providing a Savior for us, and that all we need do to be saved for eternity is to acknowlege Him and ask Him for forgiveness and salvation is a mind-boggler.

Pity.

How did that radiocarbon get there?

Carbon 14 is present in atmospheric CO2.

CO2 dissolves in rainwater.

Rainwater seeps into fossils near the surface, leaving behind traces of Carbon 14.

Next...

It’s not really grasping at straws when just about every other fossil they examine nowadays, they find more soft tissue and organic matter that can’t last more than 100,000 years.

Can you take your stupid somewhere else? We don’t like to have FReepers associated with this coprolyte. Knowledge is your friend. Faith is for your own personal peace.

It suggests contamination. Archaeology is utterly filled with mistakes. An example is someone finds a campfire with charcoal, they also find a stone tool.
They assign the age of the tool with the charcoal beforse it was “in association”.

Pretending Carbon 14 is now proving the earth is 4000 years old makes the Church look like idiots.
Even worse, the whether the earth is 4000 years old, or 4 billion does not change the message of Jesus and what he did for us.

That is correct. That's all you have to do.

You don't have to believe that humans and dinosaurs lived together, or that day and night existed on earth before the sun came into being, or that the light from other galaxies was pre-created having traveled the full distance from its origin, save only the last six thousand light years.

It’s dinosaur jerky.

Seems to me that if the dinosaurs were even 50,000 years old, the timeline based on OT genealogical tables is just as defunct as if the dinos lived 100 million years ago.

ICR or no ICR, there are serious problems with archaeological dating. Google: “Dwardu Cardona” and his “Star” series of books starting with “God Star”. Google: “Gunnar Heinsohn”.

There may be movements out there that have done more to keep thinking people away from the message of Christianity more than the young-earth crowd has, but offhand I can’t think of any.

But isn't that the real question?

If Jesus can overcome death....can He not create the world in six 24 hour days?

You nailed the mode of transportation for some of them. The Hebrews; the ones through whom God predominantly spoke, didn’t even have that. Most of them walked. But they knew God, and communed with Him.....and passed on what they learned by putting it into that book you so easily discount.

That Book, however, can make thee wise unto Salvation, if you’ll read it and respect it. Ignore it at your own peril. There are only two possible destinations for us when we depart our bodies and leave this planet. The Lake that burneth with fire and brimstone is not the kind of place I’d want to spend eternity reaizing how brazenly, stupidly WRONG I’d been.
