Kerry Threatens to Leave Nuke Talks With No Deal

Secretary of State John Kerry said on Sunday that the United States and Iran may fail to reach a final nuclear agreement despite the talks being extended past their June 30 deadline so that the sides could hash out remaining differences over the scope and scale of the Islamic Republic’s contested nuclear program.

Western observers suggested the statement from Kerry was designed to provide cover for the administration if a deal with wide-ranging concessions to Iran is struck.

Kerry told reporters in a brief press conference Sunday afternoon that he is prepared to leave town without a deal that has been viewed as the Obama administration’s biggest foreign policy priority.

If there is no deal, then Iran just races ahead trying to develop a nuclear weapon with no strings attached? Which is pretty much the deal that Kerry was actually trying to do, right?

Oil futures prices have collapsed more than 3% over the weekend.

Maybe OPEC leader Saudi Arabia, which has the power to cause great damage to oil producing nations like Iran and the U.S., is giving a hint of what it will do if the U.S.-Iran deal, which it strongly opposes, goes through.

It's all baloney. Kerry will make a secret deal with Iran, giving them everything they demand in return for whatever meager concessions they have already agreed to. The other nations will suck it up and keep their silence.

Congress will vote on it in secret, as they have in other such travesties. Everyone will claim victory and be awarded prizes.
