Donald Trump: I didn't expect business backlash to be "quite this severe"
CBS News ^ | July 4th, 2015 | By Reena Flores

On the heels of several major corporations distancing themselves from Donald Trump's various business interests, the Republican presidential candidate admitted Saturday that he didn't think the corporate backlash to his inflammatory comments about Mexican immigrants would be "quite this severe."

"I knew it was going to be bad because I was told this. All my life I have been told this: If you are successful, you don't run for office," Trump said in an interview on Fox News, addressing the recent spate of businesses that have severed their relationships with his brand. "I didn't know it was going to be quite this severe, but I really knew it was going to be bad."

During his presidential campaign announcement last month, Trump emphasized the need to curtail immigration from the southern border and criticized Mexican immigrants for "bringing crime" and being "rapists."

"It seems like I'm sort of the whipping post because I bring it up. And I don't understand whether you are liberal or whether you are conservative or whether you are Republican, Democrat -- why wouldn't you talk about a problem?" Trump said Saturday. "The crime is raging. It's violent, and people don't want to even talk about it. If you talk about it, you are a racist. I don't understand it."

When you’re going through hell my advice is to keep going and you won’t get burned. If you stop moving you will.

"If he pull out, his brand will collapse even further"

He has no choice but to counter attack and continue to damage them.

Do not be mistaken: GOPe has lost some strategic targets and is reeling. Trump may have a much bigger lead in the polls by the end of next week and they CANNOT shut him down by pulling his funding.

What on earth will they do when he starts producing and buying ads on TV and radio?

Pop-ups all over the internet saying Bush supports child rapists and the murderers of mothers.

Nice editing by the leftwing media leaving out the entire statement by Trump to make it seem as tho he generalized illegal aliens.

Trump need to remind the populace on media lies on candidates they don’t like.

Because he will DRIVE LibTards to the polls. Every single study makes it clear that people mostly vote “against” and not “for”. And, no ... 1 in 10 isn’t “support”.

We are dealing with mob rule from the left on social media. I think the only way we may counter this is on the streets.

Exactly. In his *kingdom*, he rules with impunity; not so, out of his bubble. I doubt that Trumpdom is very democratic; politics doesn’t quite work that way. *Big Money , No Whammies*

It’s not because of what he said.
It’s because it’s political gamesmanship imputing malice for strategic goals.

I hope he can hang in there. I’ve been busy cancelling my account with Macy’s, telling them what I think about the way they are going. And writing to the networks, etc. American people have to start standing up against the elitist.

Of course, the media continues to call them Mexican IMMIGRANTS, not border jumping ILLEGAL aliens.

Exactly. This is WHY the correct decisions will not be made with government. Almost all of them are bought off. Soros is behind a lot of it.

Not a surprising prelude to capitulation. I'm no fan of Trump, but if he could just stay in the game for several more months he would do more good for this country, politically, than he could possibly imagine.

He's “changing” the narrative, and that is why he is being relentlessly ridiculed from all sides. The left for obvious reasons, but also from the right as well (go along to get along pussies who cannot stomach reality as they seem to believe that they will somehow magically "attract" latino voters by not "disrespecting" illegal immigrants).

The left cannot stomach the facts of criminal actions by those who are illegally crossing our borders, and they will not allow that to be an issue in the coming election, and neither will the GOPe as it could affect their pocketbooks if the public denies the easy availability of exceptionally cheap labor for their COC benefactors.

It is absolutely necessary to bring these issues to the forefront as the rest of the crowd on the right, for the most part, are too terrified to speak the truth about such issues as illegal immigration, and that must change, otherwise the status quo wins, and America loses.
