Donald Trump: Whose voters is he stealing?
Christian Science Monitor ^ | 3 JUL 2015

Right now, Donald Trump is like a black hole whose stupendous gravitational pull is attracting a lot of media attention and some of the voters associated with the Republican 2016 presidential race. Which of his rivals in particular is this hurting?

After all, Mr. Trump’s poll numbers have risen sharply since he said that this time, he’s actually, positively running. Polling is a zero-sum game: His rise means other folks have fallen. Let’s look at the numbers and see which of Trump’s fellow candidates they are.

((snip))

Nationally, Trump’s jump into the fray has affected Marco Rubio the most, according to a CNN/ORC poll. Senator Rubio now stands at 6 percent in CNN’s most recent numbers, down from 14 percent in May.

How can Trump steal votes from Rubio?

By articulating well the issues on which Rubio is weakest, Rubio loses those votes. Also, personality. Until Trump got in the game, I would submit Rubio had the most engaging personality in the pack.

How about the other numerous “slugs” in the GOP corral rope them back in? OOps, they can’t.

One thing Trump isn’t stealing is the illegal immigrant vote.

That is about all the GOP field cares about. They sure couldn’t care less about conservative voters.

I will exempt Cruz somewhat from my scorn.

hildabutchbitch, the skanky PIAPS puta.

There are so many low info jerk weeds roaming around with their Ipads on that have never heard of marco rubio, Ted Cruz or Scott Walker, but now know that the donald is pro America and against illegals that rape and murder American citizens {see the latest murder in kalifornicator by a 5 TIMES deported illegal that was just released from prison}.

The little chubby cuban kid from Florida just peed down his leg and jumped on the bash donald bandwagon but that probably won't turn out well for him.

The kid is bringing a pen knife to a big gun fight.

"Polling is a zero-sum game: His rise means other folks have fallen"

That's true of polling, but it's not true of voting. Getting voters off their butts and out to vote is a most important part of campaigning. Maybe it's time some enthusiasm gets injected into the race. The liberal press is apoplectic over what Trump says, but they're not saying it isn't true.

IMO....Trump has nothing to lose......and
....everything to win!

He’s not beholden to special interest groups, moneyed folks or sycophants who will tickle his ear....

He sees it as it is......tells it as it is......and doesn’t second guess or apologize.
NO WONDER folks are paying attention to him......
and liking what they see and hear.

Since not a single vote is to be cast for over a year Trump isn’t stealing any votes. And the question is bogus anyway. It assumes that someone, namely Jeb, owns republican votes without contest.

Cruz has the best chance here, as the rest of the GOP candidates seem ready to attack Trump at the drop of the hat. So in a strange way, Trump may help Cruz if he shows that everyone by Cruz is completely pro-illegals.

I want Trump, Cruz and Walker to become a tag-team, especially at the debates.

Speak no ill of each other but strike hard against Jeb! and the other GOPe favorites.

A pact among three hard men. An agreement to form the ticket according to polling position ... Pres/VP/a major cabinet position

No more splitting the primary votes among a large field of conservatives so the likes of Jeb! can become the nominee.
Two standing down and supporting the other to become the nominee and carry all three into office.

Trump is probably exaggerating the problem with violent illegal aliens, but you’re absolutely right. All of the violence that does exist is being covered up by the media, and the GOPe is complicit.

What Trump is saying is certainly true in part, and we aren’t getting that from nearly anyone else. Trump has populist appeal, and there are many issues, like cracking down on illegal immigration, that actually have very broad support outside of the media, chamber of commerce, and elite circles.

Trump is saying what they refuse to say or admitt. Mexico is not sending the brightest and best they are sending us thier sh## to help us along to third worldism. Those fools who are insulted are very much like the blacks who cant see black on black crime only when a white cop is involved

Trump has a great message. I just wish he could present it coherently and rationally. The US wants and needs Trump’s message but he seems unable to talk like a businessman. He is all over the place and if he cannot shape up his undisciplined speech, it will be over for him soon.

I believe the media refuses to cover certain topics because they are afraid of the reaction. If they told the voting public what’s really going on, if they did some real investigative reporting beyond digging up dirt on conservatives, people would demand action!

The problem is...the problems are getting so big they won’t be able to keep a lid on them much longer.

He’s not stealing anyone’s votes, he’s earning them. The other candidates should try it.

He’s not stealing voters. He’ll pledge them when he drops out. Maybe to Cruz.

People worry too much about this. The election is over a year away. Hillary won’t have a chance either.

no ones....but he is getting people to stand up...

In the meantime, he's also revealing the capitalists and politicians who bow to PC at the drop of a hat.

I hope everyone at the next NASCAR race shows up with a Confederate flag in each hand.

“While he might be good on many other issues, what’s more important than conserving the United States?”

That is so true. It seems some people have trouble wrapping their minds around that.
