SCOTUS Ruling On Same-Sex Marriage Mandates Nationwide Concealed Carry Reciprocity
Bearing Arms ^ | 26 June 2015 | Dr. Robert Owens

Posted on 06/27/2015 2:06:21 PM PDT by Erik Latranyi

By using the Constitution in such a manner, the Court argues that the Due Process Clause extends “certain personal choices central to individual dignity and autonomy” accepted in a majority of states across the state lines of a handful of states that still banned the practice.

The vast majority of states are “shall issue” on the matter of issuing concealed carry permits, and enjoy reciprocity with a large number of other states.

My North Carolina concealed carry permit, for example, was recognized yesterday as being valid in 36 states, which just so happened to be the number of states in which gay marriage was legal yesterday. But 14 states did not recognize my concealed carry permit yesterday.

Today they must.

Using the same “due process clause” argument as the Supreme Court just applied to gay marriage, my concealed carry permit must now be recognized as valid in all 50 states and the District of Columbia.

Why the heck would you even want to go to one of those 14 states .... just check yourself into some EU third world country and commiserate with Piss Mogun.

Precisely so. We are now a nation of MEN (if they can be called that). The nation of laws the Founders vainly sought to leave us is a fading memory. Anyone who attempts to extend the decision for the queers to some area these alleged “men” oppose (like firearms) will find himself in a FEMA reeducation camp.

There’s BIG TROUBLE AHEAD!!

I also just wonder if there’ll ever be a national drivers license now.

Good point. I was thinking yesterday that if enough States rejected this homo crap if the result would be a federal marriage license.

The SC will probably ban guns next, and there won’t be a thing anyone can do about it.

Let them enforce it.

Quite possible. The phrase in the ruling——”Held: The Fourteenth Amendment requires a State to license a marriage between two people of the same sex....”this phrase puts a nearly-final nail in the coffin of federalism, for it embraces not federalism and its principles but rather unification — that is, the principle that there is no union of 50 states but rather one federal government and thus one state, with the arbitrary boundaries between states being mere lines on a map.

More like the opposite. Guns will be outlawed in ALL of the states as the minority desire to be free from all of those bad gun owners.

Good point. More like 3300 or so counties instead of individual states.

Well since most Americans have passports maybe they’ll add a drivers permit to it as an endorsement or something. Then we can show it to the federal police since the fed’s will nationalize them as in Mexico.

What did Obama say about gay rights? Something to the effect that we cannot have a patchwork system of laws.

I agree, Obama, Constitutional Carry across the land it is.

Yes, there is. It’s called Civil Disobedience. One need not ANY govt entity to carry and/or protect themselves.

In fact, one can create a tool that can fire a bullet from the local hardware store on the cheap.

It only becomes an ‘issue’ when/if one is caught.

Even a lowly drill press, a block of aluminum and some free time is all one needs.

Hence it is a Right, because it requires NOTHING else of one to utilize....unlike homo ‘marriage’.

Owens is wrong about this. I wouldn't try carrying in NJ, NY, MA, IL, etc. without one of their very-hard-to-get permits.

We are no longer a nation of laws, we are a nation of mere men, the strongest of which, the richest of which rule.

It's obvious that the high Court has been protecting those states who want to deny their citizens their birthright, the enumerated Constitutional right to bear arms, which predates the Constitution. The Court does this by not taking cases that would overturn these infringements. The high Court went as far as McDonald, but then the Obamite forces intimidated the Court into going no farther.

Let's just hold what we have for now. This is the calm before the storm.

This means someone from PA would have to take his gun into NJ, get arrested then take it all the way to the SC. Anyone willing to take a conservative issue to the SC is an idiot who wants to waste a lot of money.

Doesn’t work that way - my state recognizes CWP’s from all 49 other states, but only three recognize ours.

I’m in Washington state, have a CWP but haven’t checked reciprocity with other states yet.

“We are no longer a nation of laws, we are a nation of mere men, the strongest of which, the richest of which rule. “

Well, for what it’s worth, I happened to be doing contract work for an Israeli company when the Libyan civil war broke out. The Libyans got really pissed at the elitists and were hanging them from lampposts all over the country. Qaddhafi called out his elite southern mercenaries, and they were getting butchered all across the country. The Libyans were literally shoveling thousands of elitists, bureaucrats and mercenaries, including rich ones, into mass graves. Quite a sight.

The point of my post is that it doesn’t matter how rich or elite you are. When TSHF, you’re going to die a very messy death.
