By using the Constitution in such a manner, the Court argues that the Due Process Clause extends certain personal choices central to individual dignity and autonomy accepted in a majority of states across the state lines of a handful of states that still banned the practice.
The vast majority of states are shall issue on the matter of issuing concealed carry permits, and enjoy reciprocity with a large number of other states.
My North Carolina concealed carry permit, for example, was recognized yesterday as being valid in 36 states, which just so happened to be the number of states in which gay marriage was legal yesterday. But 14 states did not recognize my concealed carry permit yesterday.
Today they must.
Using the same due process clause argument as the Supreme Court just applied to gay marriage, my concealed carry permit must now be recognized as valid in all 50 states and the District of Columbia.

The NRA should trumpet this from the rooftops. Every state must now allow concealed carry, because all rights are now mandatory in all states and DC.
He’s making the incorrect assumption that the government interprets anything fairly. We no longer live in a nation of law. It is a nation of emotion. We are now the Progressive ‘Murrican States, or PMS.
Does this mean an open season?
Carry your concealed weapon into any of the 14 states that do not recognize your concealed carry permit, get arrested, go to trial and tell the jury that the charges should be dropped because the Supreme Court recognized gay marriage, and let us know how it turns out for you.
And would that include states with restrictive gun laws like NY/IL/CA/ etc? You should be able to have a gun so long has you pass a background check in any of those states.
Don’t count on it. The conceited philospher-kings will issue another lawless decree.
Good luck with that. The SC will probably ban guns next, and there won’t be a thing anyone can do about it.
Nope.Too red of a state to do that.
The whirring I hear is the heads of the liberals spinning in disbelief.
As is heard one dem say, “We are going to make up the rules as we go.” (no sarcasm at all!)
If they can use their “guns” everywhere, we can use our guns everywhere.
If a business tries to deny your right to concealed carry, you can sue them for discrimination.
If they can use their “guns” everywhere, we can use our guns everywhere.
Hmmm, I missed that part.
Can you show me in the Constitution where that is?
Or maybe you meant those who can't be trusted with a weapon should not be free to roam the streets?
I was just going on that one post where all states have to recognize laws from other states in the regard to reciprocity of CWP’s ....
Even further, since abortion is a right and it is mandated that I pay for it with my tax dollars, I demand the Feds purchase that nice little Sig I have my eye on.
why not just abolish all state’s rights...our great leaders in DC know best.
I got ya :)
Actually the reciprocity argument has been around for a while. Very sad to say, I don’t believe it will go anywhere.
These people are shameless and will never admit to the hypocrisy that IS liberalism
Since it was brought up with this gay thing the SCOTUS passed will the NRA now push it? Be nice. I also just wonder if there’ll ever be a national drivers license now.
