YES, I thought it was!

It was also a shame that dear Madelyn didn't defect to USSR rather than that faith in America, needed stomping out and erased from the minds of American children, though that was always the Communist goal, she happily lead the charge.

Sure. Though they didn’t totally wipe it out, they did their level best to make it as insignificant as possible.

Right now, somebody try to marry his/her mother, and let’s see what reason the government would give, to refuse to recognize that “marriage” - given that people have a Constitutional “right” to government recognition of whatever “marriage” a person wants to call a “marriage”.

And then double the stakes, and have somebody try to marry their mother AND father, because if people have a right to government recognition of whatever cohabitation situations people call “marriage”, then threesomes have to be OK too.

Right?

I pity all those who are pastors in these times. Yes, the persecution is coming.

I think 4th of July would be a really good time to fly the flag upside-down - an international distress signal.

I don’t have a country. Can a person renounce citizenship while still living here?

The country I have pledged allegiance to was a REPUBLIC - a Constitutional Republic, where the Constitution ruled, not men. It no longer exists. It actually hasn’t existed since about September 2008.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I think that a church refusing to perform a same sex marriage would be protected under the first amendment - the freedom to exercise their religion.

And freedom of religion is a Constitutional right - not something any state can hinder. There's still going to be hell to pay in this battle but if it got to Supreme Court, I believe the court would side with the churches.

I'd like to believe that, but with the courts interpreting (creating) in any way they want, I am no longer sure, plus the administrative government can crush people through such things as EEOC charges, hate crimes, etc. I no longer have comfort that the courts will protect the innocent. Rather, decisions are becoming political and a weapon to advance a leftist, anti-Christian agenda.

I hope she does, so it will be a different court when somebody marries their mother and some state balks at giving a marriage license...

Since this is the law now, I would hope that companies who offer 'domestic partner' benefits to soothe the hurt feelings of gays, will now find it not necessary to continue this benefit. It was additional cost to the companies and one that keeps wages stagnant.

Now marriage is a right and just shacking up together is a personal decision.

I have some thoughts on this but since this could go too far where it would force things like bakers to bake cakes against their will and principles, now we could have slavery back via SCOTUS. My father calls that slavery too. How about this? If they bring the draft back can they force religious objectors like Quakers and Amish serve in combat roles? This is bad law, the descision on who can marry who should be left to the States and/or the people themselves to decide via their own convictions or through the legislative processes of their respective States.

When you legalize the Death of Children anything is possible.

Yes, that is true; Mother Teresa has many quotes (and speeches; one to the Clintons) in that regard.

Today five “justices” (sic) of the Supreme Court, contrary to nature, reason, and moral law, and in violation of the Tenth Amendment of the Constitution they are sworn to uphold, trampled on the rights of states to have laws against homosexual “marriage” (sick). May their names live in infamy: Stephen Breyer, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Elena Kagan, Anthony Kennedy, and Sonia Sotomayor.

Of course, I and millions of other Americans will never recognize the legitimacy of their evil and unconstitutional ruling. And as an ordained minister, I will never conduct a homosexual wedding, regardless of the consequences. “We must obey God rather than men” (Acts 5:29).

What I will do is to work to defeat any political candidate who approves of this constitutional and moral abomination. And I will support a presidential candidate who will appoint true justices, in hopes that they will overturn this monstrous decision—along with a similar unconstitutional ruling, i.e., Roe v. Wade (1973), which likewise trampled on the rights of states to have laws against abortion.
