Obama's trade agenda moves past key Senate hurdle

The President's trade agenda scored a major victory Tuesday when the Senate voted to advance a bill to allow "fast-track" approval of large international trade bills.

The outcome of this key procedural vote had been in doubt as a group of 14 pro-trade Democrats weighed whether to continue their support of the bill out of concern that a related workers' assistance package might not pass both chambers.

But after repeated assurances by GOP congressional leaders that workers' assistance measure will be adopted, 13 out of 14 backed the bill.

The vote was 60 to 37, passing by the slimmest margin needed to pass.

A final Senate vote on fast-track could come as soon as later Tuesday, and it will then head to President Barack Obama's desk for his signature.

I’m glad we have the 40 plus 1. But I wish those 40 had voted for someone other than Boehner for Speaker in January.

The American public is:

1. Too passive/complacent
2. Too divided
3. Too dumbed down

that it will not demand a fundamental change in “the system.” There is no political will to make the hard decisions and demand the short-term sacrifices necessary for a change. Instead the American public has defaulted its political, and ultimately financial destiny to a group of international power brokers. I once saw a comment that the people who run our country from the top levels of Wall Street or K Street are much more comfortable mingling with their counterparts from Riyadh, London, Shanghai and Moscow than they are in dealing with us. And the children of all of them will grow up together in their private schools, swapped out among different countries.

Assuming that status quo does not change, then we continue on course. What would make the status quo change would be war; a big, cataclysmic one.

And if it’s change you want, then it would have to be a war we not only didn’t win, but got our asses kicked like the French in 1940. That would bring about a desire for change. Hardship builds character and weeds out the stupid. Character is in very short supply in our country. Stupid we have in abundance.

Any presidential candidate who isn’t actively seeking to purge ‘the system’ is either a part of it or stupid and not worth the effort.

It's why it's come to Trump vs the Politicians.

They have no desire to change anything. They prove it year in year out. If politicians words don't add up it's usually because the truth wasn't included in the equation.

The politicians are just the front men for the bankers and lobbyists who really run the country. Everyman has his price, and the bankers and lobbyists know the market. Politicians sell for the market price. Good politicians hold out for a little more.

Wall Street banker interviewed on TV in 2008 during the “crisis,” while the debate over the trillion dollar bailout was going on:

“We need the money. Give it to us.”

Politicians on both sides are at war with the American people. It’s time most people realized that.

Absolutely, this was a done deal from the get go. That
explains why Cruz suddenly decided to criticize the bill, they knew if would pass beforehand.

Done deal is right. It’s how they operate.

The politicians have it down to a science.

Hard to believe some fail to see this for what it is, after years of the same thing, year in year out.

One poster suggested Cruz did what he did because he’s “Human”.

Unfortunately they simply do not know how things work in D.C. Or else they fully understand and why many run these misinformation campaigns all over the country. Been going on for many years.

It’s boiling down to the Politicians vs Trump.

All of them hope we are stupid. They might be able to fool some people sometimes but they are supporting Obama’s agenda 24/7 and now they are too obvious. Like Mark Levin said tonight: “What part of Obama’s agenda are they not supporting?”

There yea go.

Unfortunately, thanks to government public education, a good percentage of American’s are stupid.

What did Trump say? We spend more on education than any country on earth but 25 other countries have now surpassed us.

The screams from the government teachers unions could be heard coast to coast.

This Obama trade deal is a trojan horse. It’s disguised as “free trade” What It really allows is for Obama to flood the USA with an unlimited number of 3rd world immigrants ...
http://www.thenewamerican.com/usnews/immigration/item/20710-obama-gop-trade-scheme-includes-unrestricted-immigration

http://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2015/04/dick_morris_fast_track_could_lead_to_unlimited_immigration.html

This Fast track gives Obama power to make treaties that override U.S. laws. It’s the destruction of the republic. It gives obama unlimited dictatorial power to destroy the U.S. Proof here :

http://getliberty.org/oppose-trade-authority-for-obama-on-pacific-trade-deal/
http://www.conservativehq.com/node/20233 .

Obama has been working on this TPP obamatrade agreement for at least 5 years in Secret.
Congress just voted to give Obama fast track trade promotion authority to pass this horrendous trojan horse secret agreement. That means that Congress cannot even debate about this nor add amendments and only 51% of the vote is needed to pass it instead of the usual 60% needed (cloture) .

This TPP is something that the left and Obama have been crafting for 5 years and now gets no debate and cannot even seen by the American people only after they shove it down our throat.

They voted to let Obama act like a dictator to pass this country destroying TPP. So Obama gets to pass his own law in which the left have crafted MANY ways to get around U.S. immigration law. They call it “trade in services” which is really Obama’s immigration agenda. If you read these links you’ll see all this is true. One link is from Jeff Sessions.

Don’t know how this can be legal as well as Obamacare. Our reps did not read the bills; so how could they become laws if we the people nor our reps knew what was in them?
