Three Booted From GOP Whip Team as Leaders Crack Down
National Journal ^ | 06/16/2015 | Daniel Newhauser

House Republican leaders are cracking down on rebellious members after a near-disaster on a trade vote last week, but another imperiled rule coming to the House floor Tuesday is making it difficult to punish members leaders need to pass the measure.

Reps. Cynthia Lummis, Steve Pearce and Trent Franks have been removed from the whip team after they sided with GOP rebels to vote against a rule governing debate on a trade bill, according to sources close to the team.

Lummis, a deputy whip and a member of the conservative House Freedom Caucus, was perhaps the whip team's highest-ranking bridge to the conference's most intransigent members. Pearce and Franks are also very close to House conservatives.

But House Majority Whip Steve Scalise had said earlier in the year that he would not tolerate members voting against rules, and has already removed two other members close to the conservative movement.

House GOP members form new conservative caucus January 27, 2015

Nine conservative Republicans in the House of Representatives have formed a new group in hopes of pushing a more conservative agenda in the chamber.

The new House Freedom Caucus will give ‘a voice to countless Americans who feel that Washington does not represent them,’ the group announced in a statement Monday.

The group is an alternative to the Republican Study Committee, which some lawmakers contend has become too close with the House Republican leadership.

‘We support open, accountable and limited government, the Constitution and the rule of law, and policies that promote the liberty and prosperity of all Americans.’

The group’s founding members are
Rep. Scott Garrett, R-N.J.,
Rep. Jim Jordan, R-Ohio,
Rep. John Fleming, R-La.,
Rep. Matt Salmon, R-Ariz.,
Rep. Justin Amash, R-Mich.,
Rep. Raul Labrador, R-Iowa,
Rep. Mick Mulvaney, R-S.C.,
Rep. Ron DeSantis, R-Fla., and
Rep. Mark Meadows, R-N.C.

And you are correct.

I can only dream that the GOP turds piss off the newbies enough to cause a revolt that proves fatal for the likes of Bonehead and his cabal of pubies.

Just started the vote on the rule- and the House sounds empty!

Wow!
Boehner must be going “I know who took the strawberries!” nuts on the Members.

The GOP is more of my enemy than the Democrats.

People quietly coming back in, looks bad for our side. But who knows at this point?

Amash and Walter Jones have voted nay.

Boehner does not care what the constituents want. All he cares is making sure he protects himself from something being released by Obama on him. All these politicians have been in Dc so long that their dirty laundry is probably stored away for a day when it is needed. The Chicago Way is find whatever dirt you can find and extort the politician to get the agenda in what is wanted. (Oddly enough Chicagoan politicians are going to jail, as their crimes have caught up with them)

The way you counter the demographics is a three way split. Let the Republicans and Democrats pander and split the New Illegal American voters, while the new constitutional based Legal American Party appeals to the growing smaller old school demographic. A three way split is the only way to counter and possibly save the country and its laws. If that fails, it is time to eat lead.

The conservative member need to form a CONSERVATIVE CAUCUS and ignore them and take their messages right to the public loudly and name names- who is threatening them?

And, yet...no one in the media will equate the current “punishment scheme” with the Politburo/Kremlin/KGB of the mid-60s!

Just un-f**king-believable.

"Personally, I think the only good representatives we could get for Congress are ones we’d have to kidnap in the dead of night and sequester them in a military barracks near DC and bust them every morning to do their job....at the end, if they’ve saved our money and freedoms, we let them go home." It is usually just liberals that display cognitive dissonance. :)

From my perspective, if they want to be there, we don’t want them there.

Good for Steve. (Although I noticed he did vote for one of the ‘T’ Deals’)

If he moves back to being a reliable conservative / Constitutional vote, I may forgive him his recent transgressions.

I’d think that cognitive dissonance is more evidenced by repeated year after year hiring of feather bedding lying sacks of crap narcissists in the their own rights giving us the same planned and excused disappointment time after time than it would be in trying something radically different as I lampooned.

I agree. We are imploding as a result of impossible demographics.

And just what would you do about those "impossible demographics" to stop the imploding?

Jesus Christ: You can’t impeach Him and He ain’t gonna resign.
