Father Michael Pfleger was heckled on Thursday by pro-gun advocates while he gave a message at the St. George Catholic Church in Tinley Park, Illinois.
Pro-gun hecklers booed Pfleger and claimed he was violating their rights, noted WGN-TV (video below).
According to CBS Chicago, the Illinois State Rifle Association urged its members to show up at what it called a gun control recruitment event at the church.
"I'm neither a gun-grabber, nor am I against the Second Amendment. I want people who own guns to be held responsible for the guns that they own," Pfleger stated in the church to mostly applause by attendees.
Pfleger did say he wanted a ban on assault weapons and high capacity magazines, which brought jeering from pro-gun folks, CBS Chicago reported.
At one point, Rev. Ken Fleck, the pastor of the church, told the pro-gun hecklers to be quiet or leave the sanctuary.
I’m sure you had other issues with the Church before that. No real Catholic turns their back on the Eucharist just because they don’t like a priest.
What a shame. What they should have done was to commit to daily prayer for his soul, go to their bishop and inform him and then head to a parish that is grounded in authentic Teaching and spirituality.
“No real Catholic turns their back on the Eucharist just because they dont like a priest.”

He is, however, a lying, duplicitous, Leftist Mother******.
He think’s he is, no one else does.
To be honest with you and myself, I did have other issues.
I learned later that the church did away with Extreme Unction.
I thought I could skate until I was on my death bed and still get in.
I’m still trying to figure a way to game the system.
Wish me luck.
Good point. I’m aware of Rabbis who are just as radical. But that doesn’t turn me from the Jewish faith.
Not very well.
That's really too bad. It's scandalous, and in dioceses I've been in, pretty rareit afflicts mostly the parishes of the very rich and the very poor. He could have found a different parish. But in my experience, friends who have left the Church over a solvable problem like that usually have had a few other problems they find less solvable, such as that they don't accept the Church's teaching on chastity or divorce and re-marriage.
Which brings me to the still unanswered question of why soooo many "Catholic" politicians who so actively support, fund and defend abortion are still "Catholics" in good stead and are glad-handed, blessed and embraced by soooo many so-called "good Catholic" priests, Cardinals and Bishops? Why haven't they been excommunicated, shunned, banned or burned at the stake?
Perhaps, just perhaps, if the flocks of sheep going to these citadels of virtue tried going to a Christian church, they might send a message to the papal minions.
He self-excommunicated a LONG time ago.
If God had not wanted Americans to be armed, he would not have inspired Berthold Schwarz to become a priest!

Flaky Father Mike is always very careful to bring his protests out to the relative safety of the Chicago Suburbs rather than the gang-infested area right outside his church ...
I guess you missed the part where Christ forgave the good thief just before death. Is that what you mean by gaming the system?
Smells like one of those “Reverends”(for tax purposes only)...like Sharpton and Jackson.
"WTF does that mean?"
I dunno but it doesn't seem to apply to Chicago gangsters.
Since swimming pools are more dangerous than the "assault weapons" that he wants to ban, I think he wants to punish the people who have absolutely nothing to do with the problem. But ignore or reward the people causing the problem.
For every priest like this one there is a Father Barron, Michael Gaitley, Monsignor Pope - and those are just the three I can quickly name who are alive and currently active. Lots of sinners in my church.
> I want people who own guns to be held responsible for the
> guns that they own,” Pfleger stated..
OK, so if somebody steals your car and causes a fatal accident with it, are you responsible?
Yup, that's progressive-think at it's worst.
People good
Guns bad
