Egg rationing in America has officially begun [Obamanomics: A war on prosperity]
Washington Post ^ | 6/5/15 | Roberto Ferdman

Posted on 06/06/2015 6:25:09 AM PDT by SoFloFreeper

In recent days, an ominous sign has appeared throughout Texas. "Eggs [are] not for commercial sale," read warnings, printed on traditional 8 1/2-by-11-inch pieces of white paper and posted at H-E-B grocery stores across Texas. "The purchase of eggs is limited to 3 cartons of eggs per customer."

Yep.

The market price jump might be aggravated a bit because the heart of this flu outbreak is where egg production goes to huge users like McDonald’s. These users can afford to bid up for eggs that would otherwise be going for home use.

You sound like a chicken pimp. :)

Why ration eggs? Just raise the prices up and the market will self-correct.

What's stopping people from going to multiple grocery stores to purchase eggs?

I understand you. But things like eggs, gas, butter, bread, bacon, beef, ham/pork, fish are tangible products of real work. Work that has been regulated, taxed, stolen and abused all for government.

To me, insurance is a promise and a measure of faith (misplaced or not). When government enters into the promise chain, then it becomes as empty as all the rest of Obama’s and Democrat promises. The only thing you can be assured of is that no matter what the price/case, government - Obama’s government - will get its cut and it will mete out control and oppression to go with.

When Obama’s government got involved the only logical answer could be that drastic increases would happen. It is their way.

“Not for sale in California”

I’ve always thought that the petroleum industry should help CA in its zero emissions goal by not selling any of their products in CA or when the locals complain that Safeway simply takes from the community and thereby extorts from Safeway that Safeway should say, “We don’t want to take.” and do no further business in CA and leave those fools to their own devices.

—yep—and as Commiefornia has forced electricity generation outside its borders and then forced extreme emission control measures on the generating plants , I would like to see about a forty cent per KWH “California” tax on every generated electron that goes across the border into that wretched state-—

So far, 44 million or so chickens have been culled because of bird flu.

A lot fewer than the number of Babies aborted.

If you’re blaming avian flu on Obama, let’s see the proof.

Not to mention the fact that chickens are some of the most appreciative creatures on earth. As I boy, I remember taking them not only table scraps but some things that were pretty gross, rancid, sour and rotten.

They flocked around the feeder and enthusiastically ate as if you'd just served them a gourmet meal.

Actually, the virus *is* the sole cause of this problem.

With infectious disease, the USDA becomes an agricultural “angel of death”, wiping out entire herds, flocks, and fields because a single infection was detected.

In this case, this avian flu has spread like wildfire. Between the disease and the culling, about 30 to 50 million chickens have been exterminated. The means to do so is to put the birds in their gigantic coops, then flood the coops with suffocating foam. The dead birds are then composted in the same building before every surface in it is sterilized from bottom to top.

Recovery time varies. Chicken raised for meat can reach maturity from 5-8 weeks. But egg laying chickens take about 4.5-5 months to start laying in earnest.

The first time I saw the USDA in its full AOD mode was when a single sample of wheat in Arizona exhibited “Karnal Bunt”, a fungus disease. Their response was to order ALL Arizona wheat destroyed, and for all wheat fields to remain fallow for FIVE years.

By far the most troubling is when a herd of cows was detected with hoof and mouth disease. A large pit is dug, then the cows are shot and dumped in the pit, which then has some inflammable liquid poured on the pile and the cadavers are burned. The last major example of this was in 2001.

I guess a workaround would be a sort of Atkins diet by default, with pork because beef, chicken and probably turkey have gotten too expensive?

The grocery store isn’t rationing eggs because they’re trying to be nice to people. They don’t want to antagonize their loyal customers by having them show up to empty shelves.

I don’t know what it is about chickens, but you simply must refer to them like that ;-). I fed my friend’s small flock while she was out of town and I couldn’t stop myself from saying,”Good morning ladies “ every single day.
