(CNN)Actor Vince Vaughn says he supports guns in schools to prevent mass shootings, detailing his stance in an interview in British GQ's July issue.
Vaughn, star of screwball comedies such as "Wedding Crashers," "Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy" and "Starsky & Hutch," came out full force in favor of the Second Amendment.
"I support people having a gun in public full stop, not just in your home," Vaughn said. "We have the right to bear arms to resist the supreme power of a corrupt and abusive government.
"It's well known that the greatest defense against an intruder is the sound of a gun hammer being pulled back."
Schools without guns are targets for mass shooters, he said.

Great answer!!
“You think the politicians that run my country and your country don’t have guns in the schools their kids go to?” he asked. “They do. And we should be allowed the same rights.”
Banning guns won’t stop criminals, he said. “Banning guns is like banning forks in an attempt to stop making people fat. Taking away guns, taking away drugs, the booze, it won’t rid the world of criminality.”
Great quotes.
This is great but he will probably get blacklisted by Hollywood now as a result.
Sounds like he gets it.
Poor Vince....he is now damned to doing popiel commercials
Sweet
Vince Vaughn is “the man”
Someone from Hollywood with a brain..about damn time..problem is, since he has come out in support of guns his career is probably over, but I will continue to support him, he’s a good actor. Funny thing about liberal celebrities and their hatred of guns, they hate guns, yet a few weeks ago at the Caane Film Festival they were armed guards protecting these same people who want to take away our rights

I’ve always thought he looks like my mental image of Mitch Rapp. This tops it off, casting wise.
Coming up in a few days on the one-year anniversary of a shooting at my son’s college. One student was killed. Another student is a hero for using pepper spray on the shooter (some nut that came in from off campus) and then tackling him as he reloaded.
Pepper spray is also illegal to have on campus. Never heard a bad word about it though in this case.
