A British teen whose stomach cancer symptoms were allegedly dismissed by doctors as a desire to be skinny died after it spread to her eye and ovaries, the Telegraph reported.

Georgia Marrison, 18, who was preparing to study English Literature at University of Sheffield, complained of tiredness and fatigue. But her mother, Joanne, said that doctors downplayed the symptoms to severe anemia and an overwhelming desire to be thin.

“I felt abandoned by doctors and had nowhere to turn,” Joanne told the Telegraph. “The doctor said to her, ‘Georgia, you are looking very pale, and I know what you 18-year-old girls are like for wanting to look like stick insects.’

This is why we've feared socialized medicine. Doctors making ridiculous diagnoses. Next stop.Obamacare.

Welcome to government run health care. Which is an oxymoron.

Yep, I know a lot of people who are in massive trouble because of this TERRORIST attack against our country, which is exactly what Obamacare is. ISIS only wishes they could do this kind of damage to the USA. This is going to cost a lot of lives not to mention jobs and money. 2016 is THE most important election in this nations history, without question. Someone like Hillary wins it will be like nuking the Titanic while it’s sinking. I really think if she wins this country will revolt, it’s either that or will live in absolute hell. They can fake all the votes they want, get all the illegals they can get to vote, but it ain’t going to change the fact that the majority of this country is against this constant terrorism by the Treason party aka Democraps.

“I’m not here to say they could have saved Georgia because it was so aggressive, but my main aim is that she was ignored so many times and it was all because she was a teenager and it has got to stop,” Joanne told the Telegraph.

“My hope now is that she didn’t die in vain,” she said.

Sorry, dear lady, but your daughter is just another victim of the socialized medicine of which so many in your country is proud.

Unless your daughter becomes the rallying cry to abolish socialized medicine she has died in vain.

I suspect it would be just as easy for doctors in the US to miss stomach cancer in a teen girl.

“The average age of people when they are diagnosed is 69. About 6 of every 10 people diagnosed with stomach cancer each year are 65 or older.”

“A major cause of stomach cancer is the bacteria Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori), which is also a major cause of stomach ulcer.”

Those below the age of 30 often show far fewer symptoms that suggest stomach cancer. One thing that could have helped the diagnosis is if stomach cancer was common in her family, if she smoked, ate a lot of smoked fish and other smoked meat. Beyond that, physical palpitation of the stomach can indicate hardness or unusual lumps.

So the bottom line is that missing that she had stomach cancer would be easy to do.

we wouldn’t survive pantsuit without an upheaval. Christianity, or major parts of it, would basically be outlawed during her tenure.

Honestly, I hate to say this, but these things are not uncommon. People have got to take charge of their own health and the health of their families. You can’t simply sit back and wait for the system to rescue you.

I recently had back surgery and the 3 weeks leading up to it was one medical horror story after another. I have great insurance coverage and great doctors, and I still had issues getting offices to communicate, transfer records, prescribe the right medication, etc. Almost sent me to the loony bin. :-)

It’s not that a doctor wous say, “oh that’s stomach cancer.” It’s that a doctor would pursue determining what the matter was.

Negligence resulting in death used to be malpractice. Now it gets you a bonus.

the bigger picture here is that authorities can offer "profile" against the young, against the poor, often against women...

if an elder had come in, they'd have been offered Cadillac treatment...but a young skinny pale girl?....just her menses or infatuation with boys....

here is the truth: for a few decades now, we've over treated, over prescribed, over diagnosed people and now people think the old ways should still be here....they're not....that kind of care is way more than any govt can afford, or insurance company...

we are in the days now where you won't automatically get a CT scan, or an MRI and God forbide you need two in a year....that'll send the govt into fits....

get used to it...its here...

With a NHS, no one is ever held accountable for malpractice. You know it’s uselsss to try to sue the Government.

The self-loathing West treats its own people like scum & rewards the law-breakers hence this girl is just another member of the British hegemony. Beautiful girl....heartbreaking.
