Honestly, I hate to say this, but these things are not uncommon. People have got to take charge of their own health and the health of their families. You can’t simply sit back and wait for the system to rescue you.
I recently had back surgery and the 3 weeks leading up to it was one medical horror story after another. I have great insurance coverage and great doctors, and I still had issues getting offices to communicate, transfer records, prescribe the right medication, etc. Almost sent me to the loony bin. :-)
An example of socialized medicine.
You are right on. My wife and I have finally learned that we must take absolute charge of whatever medical issue we are dealing with and carefully research and seek out a good doctor that cares enough to fix the problem.
Unless you have a slam dunk common problem, the medical care is very spotty. We are just crossing into late 40’s, and starting to need more minor medical care, so I’m not sure if it has always been this way or if it is commiecare taking hold.
