[history]
An investigation is underway after two police dogs were found dead inside an unmarked SUV parked outside a Hialeah police officer's home.
Hialeah police say K-9 Officer Nelson Enriquez arrived at his home in Davie early Wednesday after completing his midnight shift and apparently left the dogs inside his vehicle. Investigators say the officer found the dogs around 7 p.m.

I'm sure Officer Enriquez will be charged in the deaths of the 2 "police officers" as any normal serf, er I mean citizen would be if they caused the death of a K9. I'll be holding my breath.

The Hialeah Police Department is extremely saddened by this unfortunate occurrence and every effort will be made to determine the cause of this terrible tragedy which claimed the lives of two very beloved members of our Hialeah Police family,http://www.miamiherald.com/news/local/community/miami-dade/hialeah/article22496112.html

Yeah.... they’re not telling us the part where he got off work, stopped by a local bar for a couple of hours. Got completely drunk, drove home, managed to get in the house, passed out in bed, and forgot he had two dogs locked up in his car since before he got off work.

All is well. The Officer involved is a trained professional and knows what’s best. Sue the auto maker for letting the interior of their vehicles get so hot in the Florida heat.

Yeah, as though the “cause” of the tragedy is so hard to come up with, how about Officer Douchebag left the 2 dogs in the car and they died of heat exhaustion. Investigation completed.

True - it’s the fault of those EEEEVIL SUV’s - now if they’d only been driving Priuses...

My first thought was heat exhaustion. Locked in the car all day in Florida. I don’t know what the temp was yesterday, but today the weather report for Orlando is 87.

Oh, yeah.
I’m always forgetting where I put my dogs.
NOT.
24/7/365. [366, in a leap year]
I’m either looking at them directly or checking in on them with network cams, if I’m not home.
Seriously cop, WTF??

I thought that too, but you probably just fall asleep and go bye-bye..
I want that officer to undergo some degree of punishment that'll cause him to reflect.. I'd imagine he's devastated, if not, kick him out of the country.

Great chart. Every vets office should have one.

True. They can’t afford the same legal protections to ‘badged’ police dogs as human officers get yet regard these dogs as mere ‘dogs’ in this case just because the offending party is an officer!
