Hialeah police say K-9 Officer Nelson Enriquez arrived at his home in Davie early Wednesday after completing his midnight shift and apparently left the dogs inside his vehicle. “completing his midnight shift.” Does that mean his shirt started at midnight, so he worked, what, 8 hours? Got home at say 9 am and never once thought of the dogs between then and 7pm the next evening? Benefit of the doubt the dogs were left unattended in the vehicle for 10 hours. Never once thought he should feed them? Let them out to exercise or relieve themselves? Given the times in the story, midnight shift until 7 pm the following day, I don’t see how this could be anyone’s fault but his own.
