Exclusive — Walker: We’d Be Sending in Navy to Stop Illegals if They Were Swarming Our Sea Ports Like They Do Southern Border

[SNIP]

".........Since former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush—one of amnesty’s biggest proponents—has now backed off his previous support for citizenship for illegal aliens (he wants to give them amnesty via legal status), that means Rubio is the only candidate who still stands with the AFL-CIO and their brothers in the Chamber of Commerce wanting to give illegal aliens full blown American citizenship. That means Walker, the anti-special interest union battler, has an even better opportunity to fight Rubio—who’s quickly becoming the establishment’s go-to candidate as Bush falters frequently and fails to gain traction on the campaign trail—and his liberal immigration position.

Mark Krikorian, the executive director of the Center for Immigration Studies (CIS), laid out why unions have abandoned Americans when it comes to immigration—they used to support standing up for American workers—and it comes down to purely political power calculations by the bosses.

“It’s not just that unions are looking for more warm bodies to recruit, they’ve undergone a basic cultural change at the top to become culturally leftist in ways they weren’t before,” Krikorian told Talking Points Memo back in 2013. “Americans have pretty much given up on organized labor, so organized labor is giving up on Americans.”

In fact, Walker’s battle highlights an abandonment of the principles on which unions—and everyone else—used to agree. Samuel Gompers, the first president of the American Federation of Labor (AFL)—which would eventually become the AFL-CIO—strongly disagreed with the Rubio-Trumka position on immigration. Gompers wrote in the 1920s:........

Obama immigration overhaul and 'Dreamers' handed another legal setback

"...“Today, two judges of the 5th Circuit chose to misinterpret the facts and the law in denying the government's request for a stay,” said Brandi Hoffine, a White House spokeswoman. “As the powerful dissent from Judge Higginson recognizes, President Obama's immigration executive actions are fully consistent with the law.”

...In February, U.S. District Judge Andrew S. Hanen, sitting in Brownsville, Texas, issued an injunction putting the programs on hold. His action came in response to the suit filed by the 26 states. Tuesday’s ruling comes after the appeals court panel held an unusual 2½-hour hearing April 17 on the administration's request to stay the injunction.

The panel's action drew praise and scorn.

"U.S. immigration laws should be respected and enforced," Robin Hvidston, executive director of We The People Rising, said in a statement. “President Obama should focus his energy upon the needs of U.S. citizens, and assist Americans who are unemployed, homeless, families in poverty, veterans and the disabled, not individuals in the USA illegally."

Lee Gelernt, an ACLU attorney, said in an interview that the ruling would "cause needless hardship to thousands of law-abiding families. The federal program is consistent with congressional intent and the Constitution and the states have no business trying to enjoin this program.”

Fifteen states, including California, had filed briefs arguing on behalf of Obama’s executive actions........."

How can they possibly call any illegal alien a “law-abiding-citizen?” These people can’t even plead ignorance. They knowingly crossed the border illegally.

Cause “needless hardship to law-abiding families.”

This guys pants are ashes around his ankles at this point.

There is a reason they are called “illegals” Mr. Smarty pants.

States are electing Republican governors, electing Republican majorities in their legislatures. More states joined Texas to legally challenge and block Obama's actions than states who added their support to Obama.

The tide is turning. The march is on.

The states are challenging Democrats on the Hill, in the White House and through the courts.

Obamacare was passed with NO Republican vote. It is being challenged by many parties/states. The Supreme Court is deciding on - "Issue: Whether the Internal Revenue Service may permissibly promulgate regulations to extend tax-credit subsidies to coverage purchased through exchanges established by the federal government under Section 1321 of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act" [King v. Burwell].

A majority of states have been, and continue, throwing wrenches into the works.

The Left is losing, their political bench is abysmal and not being replenished.

Democratic Party politics is under assault - they know they're holding a losing hand.

The IRS, the EPA, all the government agencies being used to attack conservatives and our economy, are in the spotlight - their illegal, anti-American actions are exposed.

The law is on their side, or they blatantly ignore it. They won’t be punished for it. They’ll giggle behind closed doors about who got off on what!

If the left is losing, that gives me pause to stay vigilant. If they know its now or never, for them it will be win now or lose now.

And leaders are leaders. Gov. Walker is carrying the flag and bringing the fight to them [winning and winning, while growing longer and longer coattails].

J.R. Dunn saw things clearly, but he just didn't anticipate (couldn't conceive) that Obama would get a 2nd term (most of us were in that same boat) - but he had their number (and it relates to the protests in Wisconsin (and it's pertinent to the present): Democrats Unveil the Weapon of the Future, American Thinker - July 6, 2011

Maybe it’s the Democrats, not the Republicans, who are actually the modern day version of the Whig Party. Who knew?

No, Obama would be sending the navy to give them a ride, while serving them dinner on pressed linen and bone china.

At least now the problem of illegals is being discussed at the national level. It should be one of the most important topics debated in the 2016 presidential election cycle.

Walker is tying it (illegal and legal immigration) to our national security and to our national economy/jobs, so it will most certainly will be covered

My brother-in-law from Canada has been doing some paperwork here and has hit a wall. He was told to get $20k in the bank or a sponsor because the US government doesn’t want him to be a burden on the nation.

ok.

“.............As most know, the government is also importing as many foreign workers as it can manage, hundreds of thousands of educated, highly qualified tech and professional folk via H–1B guest worker visas. In 2014, the U.S. hosted 25.7 million foreign born workers: 16.5% of the workforce. Southern California Edison replaced its IT department this way; Disney recently has done the same. The government claims there are too few Americans qualified for these jobs, but appearances suggest that in reality, foreigners are cheaper. Even more illegal but welcomed border jumpers are competing for the lower paying jobs. Since the prices of food, shelter and such continue to rise as wages do not, impoverishment continues.

American workers seem less qualified than they once were; U.S. education in reading, math and science has fallen out of the top 20 on international rankings where it was once among the best. The dismal economic truth: America has abdicated its competitiveness and continues on that path. The Federal Reserve’s cheap money has papered over an economic swamp but that cannot last without destroying the currency. And the policies have failed to restore growth.

Government, federal plus many cities (e.g. Chicago) and states, has run up unmanageable debt; debt that is a liability for taxpayers already sinking into personal economic mire. When overvalued stocks and real estate deflate, removing the paper cover from America’s economic swamp, insolvent taxpayers and government must sink together. Democrats and Republicans likely now each share a hope that the others will provide the next Hebert Hoover.

There seems little doubt that the economic pattern results from government intervention; it is nothing new in history. India’s static caste system and China’s 15th century halt of exploration and change both embedded poverty via economic stasis. In America, it has been overregulation and the increasing and the increasing corruption accompanying crony capitalism.................”
