To help shooters make that determination, Guns & Ammo has conducted an extensive test, pitting 10 popular single stack 9mm pistols against each other in a shootout. Testers fired more than 8,000 rounds of 9mm through the 10 pistols, documenting all failures and malfunctions over the length of the test, as well as accuracy both prior to and after the tests completion.

I look at all these plastic pistols, which remind me of all my G.I.Joe
Mattel guns, as a yoing boy.
I own a Hi Power. It served the SAS well, and is a proven
design, so it will serve me well into my time.
If you’re gonna go 9 x 18 go with the CZ82 ... best version of the Makarov weapons.
“Love the Berea Thunder 380 acp!”
My favorite carry pistol.
Steel?
“Yup. My PM40 was the same way. Sent it back once, still jammed after that. Traded it in on something else. Have never done Kahr since.”
Maybe since Kahr is owned by Reverend Moon’s family, the’d better start praying over their designs. The Sig P238 isn’t cheap, but it’s light-years better than the Kahr.
“My daily carry is a Walther PPS 9mm, and I like it. It fits me well. But no gun fits everybody.
The only change I’d like for Walther to make is the magazine release. It was hard to get used to.”
I have a newly acquired PPQ,M2 (9mm) which has the button mag release. My wife has the M1 which has the European style trigger guard release. For the money, these guns are tops. They have the BEST trigger of any handgun I own, including some pistols that cost twice as much.
Got the Glock 29. Love it. And it goes ‘bang’ everytime.
