Gun Owners of America, the radical and influential gun group that boasts that it is far to the right of the NRA, announced in an email to its members yesterday that it will be holding a series of “tele-town hall meetings” with Republican presidential candidates in order to vet the candidates on their gun-law orthodoxy.
The “first of several” calls, to be held next week, will feature Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, a clear favorite of Gun Owners of America’s executive director, Larry Pratt.
While it’s unclear which other GOP candidates have agreed to participate in GOA’s calls, it’s disturbing that any have agreed to associate themselves with the far-right group and with Pratt.
GOA promotes an extreme, “no compromise” ideology that has helped to pull the NRA to the right and to sink any attempts at bipartisan gun law reform. But what is even more troubling is Pratt’s long history of pushing dangerous paranoia to the far right, encouraging firearms ownership as a way to stave off race riots and government takeovers and making frequent references to assassinating political leaders.

Please explain how a solid conservative can vote for a bill that:
1. Is so toxic that Obama would not allow it to be seen in public nor even discussed
2. According to Senator Sessions, the bill has written-in clauses that allow it to be changed on Obama’ whim
3. Is so convoluted no senator has even read it
4. Made Obama elated when the Senate (read Republicans) passed it
5. And explain what my agenda is when I am critical of any and all senators who voted for the “disaster” as Rush correctly described it, and Drudge correctly described it as “treason”. Can you comfort us with knowledge concerning the bill that no one else has, including Cruz?
6. And I can point our that slandering someone is no substitute for refuting someone’s argument
The only issue I have with GAO and Pratt is that most of the contributions are recycled into salary & more fund raising, not boots on the ground lobbying. Yes, he pushes “no compromise” but more of a fund raiser than actual effect on those who want to ban our guns.
Because, all you can do is cite one vote that you disagree with...because you have an agenda.
I look at Cruz and his whole body of work. If you are so fragile that one vote deters you, then vote for A RINO or Hillary. Tell me, who is more Conservative.
Who do you support?

Some votes are immeasurably more critical than others. Compare the Patriot Act with Obamacare for immediate impact. As for why the democrats oppose the bill, I would assume that it is because the AFL-CIO has frozen all financial contributions to anyone who supports the trade bill. The AFL-CIO can give you chapter and verse on the tremendous negative impact of previous free trade bills. Incidentally, free trade is basically mercantilism, which is what the colonists rebelled against. All I need repeat: the bill is being kept secret. Have you ever, in your wildest imaginations, considered that such a thing could get passed in an American Congress? The fact that the Obama administration actually SUCCESSFULLY placed restrictions on another co-equal branch of government is beyond human comprehension. McConnell REFUSED to make it public. Boehner is all for it. To again quote Drudge, it is treason.
0bama was notified immediately and automatically when the Benghazi consulate triggered the "Imminent Danger Notification System" alert. He did nothing.

Denial of requests for security were a dereliction of duty. The lies and misdirection about the "video" after the attack were fraud and malfeasance under the color of authority. The inaction during the attack was something more than that.
The failure to act during the attack is the direct equivalent of desertion IMO.

Everything I have read and seen so far on Benghazi is still confirming my initial thinking on the matter, going way back to my days as a NavSpecWar officer who took a SEAL det to Beirut a long time ago.
Once the alarm is sent from Benghazi, dozens of HQs are notified and are in the loop in real time, including AFRICOM and EURCOM, both located in Germany.
Without waiting for orders, they begin planning and executing rescue operations, including getting air support over Benghazi ASAP. But one thing they CANNOT DO without explicit orders from the POTUS is cross an international border. That is the big “red line.”
All POTUS has to do is NOT grant cross-border authority, and the entire rescue (already in progress) must stop in its tracks. Ships can loiter on station, but planes fall out of the sky, so they must be redirected to an air base (Sigonella Sicily) to await the POTUS decision on granting CBA. If it never comes, the men in Behghazi must rely only on assets already “in country” in Libya, such as the Tripoli QRF and the Predators.
(And possibly AC-130s that might already have been in Libya: they were last year, but their location on 9-11-2012 is unknown. If they were “in country” but were prevented from firing, that is another situation.)
So if at the 5 pm DC-time meeting with Panetta and Biden, Obama said, “No outside military action,” meaning no CBA will be granted, then THAT IS IT. Case closed.
That constitutes “standing orders” all the way down the chain of command via Panetta and Dempsey to Ham and the subordinate commands trying to rescue the men in Benghazi.
If Obama then goes upstairs to the family quarters to watch TV or sleep, or otherwise makes himself “unavailable,” then his last standing orders will stand until he changes them, even if he goes to sleep until the morning of 9-12.
Nobody in the chain of command below him can countermand his “standing orders” not to send military forces from outside of Libya into Libyan air space.
Nobody.
Personally, I think he left “no outside miltary intervention, no cross-border authority” standing orders, and then he went to bed. Damn him to hell.
(And to me, the most damning aspect of all is that Obama went to bed while his Ambassador was still missing and presumed kidnapped by Al Queda. Ambassador Stevens might have been on a Youtube video pleading for his life, ready to get the Nick Berg/Danny Pearl “intro to jihad” treatment, and Obama WENT TO BED to rest up for his much more important fund raiser in Las Vegas!)

Captain Kendra Motz, Marine Corps spokesman, told Breitbart News on Friday that she wasn't aware that the Marine Corps had issued a formal statement, but that the information included in the Powerline report was correct.
"The Marine Corps does not have any Marines stationed at diplomatic installations in Libya."
When asked if she knew of the existence of the document outlining the State Department Rules of Engagement for Libya, she stated:
"I don't, and even if I did I couldn't disclose it to you because it puts people at risk."
The 50 Marines that were rushed to Libya after the murder of Ambassador Stevens are not permanently stationed at any diplomatic installation in Libya.

Ted Cruz Ping! This is pretty funny. GOA was and is extremely opposed to the TPP, as they (correctly) view it as a backdoor method for getting the UN small arms treaty passed. Given Ted Cruz’ embrace of TPP, I doubt this is going to be as friendly of a meeting as this organization bills it.
