MATT DRUDGE SLAMS BOEHNER FOR PROMISING TO PASS OBAMATRADE: ‘CLEARLY TREASON’
Breitbart ^ | may 23, 2015 | by KATIE MCHUGH

Posted on 05/23/2015 10:44:48 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

Matt Drudge took to Twitter to deliver an ongoing tirade against Republicans’ eagerness to deliver a fast-track trade bill to President Obama’s desk. The bill’s details have not been made public — which hasn’t stopped Republicans from surrendering Congress’s power to make amendments to a president’s future trade deals.

Should a Republican presidential candidate lose the 2016 general election, the Trade Promotion Authority bill could be to blame. Keeping the bill’s details from voters was “clearly treason,” Drudge tweeted...

Where is the Bill? or, Is it like CA’s Nancy Pelosoi, “We have to pass the bill in order to find out what is in it.” Be wary of a government that does bills in secret, because he freedoms that taken for granted can be removed.

Just wondering - secrets - Gun Control, Marital Law, UN’s Agenda 25 - Universal health Care, (that the US has failed to sign on to since 1948), UN’s Agenda 21 that the US has failed to sign on to too!

What other bag of tricks has Obama put into the secret trade deal. Why are the Republicans giving Obama everything that he wants? Idiots all of them in DC!

Why don’t you just lay out the details and explain why this is a good agreement?

It’s not a free trade treaty. There’s much misinformation going on about this bill. It simply gives the President the right to negotiate a free trade treaty without Congress being allowed to amend it. It still would need to be ratified by Congress it with an up or down vote.

It’s a big hub-bub about nothing. Allowing Congress to amend a free trade deal is stupid on all counts. If it’s a bad trade deal, vote it down and send the President back to the drawing board to get another one done.

My theory is that Boehner is a drunk who goes on these all night drinking binges and next day he is so hung over he doesn't give a damn what Obama does, does what ever Obama tells him to do. He just coasts through the day until its Happy hour and he's back to drinking. I KNOW that is the situation with that idiot, as someone like me who had a drinking problem in the past I can see it in his face. This is exactly why we need a constitutional requirement that all members of Congress should submit to random drug and alcohol tests. Every government employee has to do it all except those whose decisions affects 100s of millions of people? F that! I want people like Boehner, especially Pelosi peeing in that cup. If Nancy Pelosi is clean I'll eat my hat. A friend of mine is a drug counselor, says Pelosi constantly displays all the symptoms of being high on cocaine. This is a woman responsible for destroying our healthcare system, most likely done while she was high. Enough is enough, I want them tested!

“Can someone, anyone, please show in definitive terms why the TPP is treasonous?”

Would you sign a blank check and turn it over to a bank robber? Would you sign a contract without reading/knowing what it is about? Why would you trust Obama? Why would Congress want to give more power to Obama? The classified status is unconstitutional, besides being craven.

Seems to me Drudge is on the right track here.

And we have a bunch of GOP Senators so disconnected from the reality of their base, they are endeavoring to get unelected.

Boehner will be back home for the Memorial Day weekend. It is about time his constituents stage some (peaceful, but loud) protest of their own.

The bill says all trade agreements have to be approved by congress - Obama can’t do it on his own.

And we know that because they say so?

We have no clue what else has been added to the bill. If it is good for us why not make it public? How can a trade bill be classified?

"It still would need to be ratified by Congress it with an up or down vote."

Article II, Section II, Clause ii of the US Constitution says that any international Treaty must be ratified by 2/3 of the Senate.

TPA/Fast Track allows a bypass of this provision, EXACTLY as was developed for Obama's nuke deal with Iran.

Rather than requiring POTUS to present a negotiated deal to the Senate for ratification, they pre-load a law that says the deal takes effect with 51 votes, no amendments allowed...and no filibuster allowed (60 vote threshold.

It is clearly and absolutely unconstitutional.

So, is that what you are on this site advocating?

"Can someone, anyone, please show in definitive terms why the TPP is treasonous?"

See my post #37.

And then combine the circumvention of the constitution with the secrecy...keeping the details of a binding, international treaty secret from the American people.

How could it NOT be treasonous?

Aiding and abetting enemies of the Constitution and the American people is clearly treasonous.

"Can someone, anyone, please show in definitive terms why the TPP is treasonous?"

Also, please consider if you will, Reagan proposed the details of START I and II publicly and negotiated those details openly....then presented the result to the Senate for ratification.

We can negotiate a Nuclear Arms Control treaty in the open, but a Trade deal must be classified?

How the hell is that a good thing?

A bought and paid for congress. The one running for senator or congressman who spends the most money gets elected 95% of the time. Corporate unelected international elite write the laws and bills and their puppets in Washington pass them as they are instructed.

92 million out of work and about to get a lot worse. Sending more jobs to low wage countries.

It is secret because Americans are not going to like it but to get the money to be reelected these sellouts in Washington are screwing the American people again.

Mammon runs the country. GOP and dems are two sides of the same coin.
