New York Times: Eating Food Aggravates Drought
American Thinker ^ | 05/22/2015 | NewsMachete

For a long time now the Liberal Media has waged a propaganda campaign to make you feel guilty for using electricity, claiming the planet was melting because of imaginary global warming. Now we are moving onto phase 2: since much of our food is grown in California, and since California is experiencing a drought (which has happened repeatedly thousands of years), and since growing food uses a lot of water, by eating food, the New York Times wants you to feel guilty for causing the drought in California.

Really.

California farmers produce more than a third of the nation’s vegetables and two-thirds of its fruits and nuts. To do that, they use nearly 80 percent of all the water consumed in the state. It is the most stubborn part of the crisis: To fundamentally alter how much water the state uses, all Americans may have to give something up.

You see? That's what's it's all about. You have to "give up" your lifestyle, your standard of living. You are now evil if you consume foods that take a lot of water to create. To help you with your new self-imposed guilt, the Times produced a colorful chart showing how much water different kinds of food require. It even labels food groups "guzzlers," to hammer in the point that if you dare to eat them, you are selfishly wasting global resources.

Two ounces of rice require 15 gallons of water. A single egg is 18 gallons. Three mandarin oranges require 42 gallons. A glass of milk, 55 gallons. Less than two ounces of beef require 86 gallons of water! How selfish you are if you eat meat!

Now, responsible people eat things like garlic gloves. Six garlic cloves only require a single gallon of water. The same for six celery sticks.

This is not real is it? Satire, right?

Anything that sounds completely idiotic and stupid is bound to be a liberal idea. That's a given. Multiply that times ten for anything emanating from the NY Fish Wrap.

Heck, why did they stop at us eating food? Why not just tell us that we all need to commit suicide to rid the planet of our carbon footprints? That way they can save the planet for....mmmm......well......you know....the planet. I guess.

I'm glad to have California providing fruits, nuts and vegetables year around. In the summer and fall I usually eat Midwest local fruits and veggies because they have more flavor. I can't find a tomato in the store that even comes close my garden grown ones.

I guess the NYT is encouraging me to can more fruits and vegetables for the winter so I can stop the drought. California farmers will thank me profusely.

Since the NYT is a proponent of AGW, and exhaled air is the purest and most direct source of man-made CO and CO2 in the atmosphere, the writers of this article should cease breathing and thereby cease their contributions to such ‘polution’. That would go a long way to improving the drought situation in CA.

Eat liberals. Sure they are probably gamey and stringy without much meat. But it’s a twofer. They will be happy and smug knowing they are helping combat climate change and saving the earf while they simmer in a warm pot over a hot fire.

California's inland agricultural areas are Republican-leaning.

The Dems want to impoverish the farmers so they can't support Repubs.

It’s humorous in a way to drive in So. Calif. today. Lanes blocked as the Democrat favored contractors strip the median lanes of the existing “NON drought tolerant trees, plants, and grasses”, and replace them with “drought tolerant trees, plants, and grasses”.....or so we are told.

The history of California weather cycles (basically ten-eleven year cycles with a drought thrown in here, and there), which are documentable clearly provides clues as to what plants should have been planted in those median strips down the centers of the highways, and bi-ways of the State initially.

Democrats, and Cronyism exposed once again.

What’s even funnier is the latest news is El Nino is back, and next year will very likely see forty days, and forty nights immediately following the replanting of California highway landscaping.

Goes right along with not breathing because we exhale carbon dioxide.

Liberal elites want to pretend that the gold watch they buy doesn't have a ‘water signature’ but it does.

How much money a person spends each year is highly correlated with their energy footprint - and their water consumption.

The fact liberal elites don't ‘see’ the water that's used to manufacture the goods they use - or the services they buy - doesn't mean it's not there.

And yet, how many millions of gallons a day are flushed out to sea because... smelt?

The entire “endangered species” game was never, at any time, anything other than a tool. Lies created to use as a direct attack on US economic and industrial capacity.
