Redhead banned from [U.K.] high school in England for being too ginger [natural hair color]

A redheaded high school student in England has been banned from classes for being too ginger, the devastated teen said.

Emily Reay, 17, of Cumbria, was scolded by teachers who told her she couldn't come back to the Trinity School in Carlisle until she gets rid of her natural bright auburn locks or "tones it down considerably," according to reports.

"I was very angry at first, and then burst into tears," she told The Telegraph. "I've had the same color for the past three years, and nobody at school has commented on it."

The burgeoning musician's hair, which has hints of orange, had been a "bone of contention" since the beginning of the school year, the news site said. It reportedly falls under the category of "unnatural" hair colors like blue or green.

But the Monday news still stunned the teen, who won an award for best hairstyle during prom.

But that theory doesn’t account for the same prejudice in Greece, nor for the Western-Europe-wide association of red hair with witchcraft and vampirism in the Middle Ages.

Right, they both look like fine upstanding citizens and she is looking particularity good in that photo. I have seen a few photos of her and this is the best. IOW it was a good day for her.

That’s natural? You must be a guy.

We have the same issue with silicone implants - they look natural, or close enough. Next you'll tell us that Dolly Parton's hair and other parts weren't natural either. We don't want to hear it (not that we care if they're real).

” Back in college, I dated a girl with hair that color, but hers was wavy. And real. “

As was my ex-wife’s! Stunning! But she was also completely nutz!

LOL!

Yeah, the lighter ends really give it away. Plus, with the exception of the ends of her hair, it is all one flat color. She is likely a red-head, but not that shade of red- or orange.

She may be a natural redhead, but that color is not her natural color.

“I’ve had the same color for the past three years...”, which implies it wasn’t like that prior to three years ago. So it is fake...unless three years ago her hair changed to that color (?)

Well, according to presidential candidate and classy guy, Donald Trump, he says that touching silicone breasts is awful. He said that about one of his ex-wives. Me, what would I know?

Nope. Brown eyebrows and hazel eyes with my red hair. Not an indicator, I’m afraid.

I had an aunt with hair of a rusty orange hue just like this girl’s hair and this was long before she ever tried to use dye. My aunt was similarly discriminated against because she also had naturally dark brown/black eyebrows and black lashes which contrasted sharply natural bright red hair. A teacher, thinking her brows were made up, forced her go scrub her eyebrows and was furious when nothing changed. So furious was the teacher that she tried scrubbing them herself, to no avail, leaving my aunt in tears. Apparently the teacher had never encountered mixed-bloods before... it was beyond her comprehension that you can have different color hair on the same person. She could have saved herself some trouble by looking at my uncle in the next class- bright flame red hair, but brown eyebrows and lashes, only he also had freckles and pale skin like most redheads whereas the aunt had olive skin.

I was born with jet black hair; by kindergarten it was just as blonde as could be with no trace of black; by fifth grade it was uniformly red-orange; by my freshman year it was darker, turned medium reddish brown with bright red streaks to the front; by graduation, it was a deep rich brown with the red turning to blonde highlights, and by thirty the blond had turned gray and the brown had lightened to a dull dishwater blonde. After that it darkened to walnut brown with no red or blonde and the gray spread to half my head; then I got sick and it turned almost all gray; after some surgery my health improved and the gray started turning bright blond while the deep walnut became near black in the back. Lately the gray has diminished in area, and the blond is getting a strawberry cast to it.

I’ve never used hair dye in my life, but have noticed that stress, health, genetics, and sun exposure can cause very dramatic color changes both seasonally and over the long term.

I didn’t click on the link but if that’s “auburn” I’ve got a bridge in Brooklyn to sell you. That’s orange, my friend.

Exactly my point ;)
Auburn is her natural color, per the article.
Orange is not.
Her hair is orange
Therefore her orange hair is not her natural color
