On Sunday, Michigan state senator Virgil Smith (D-Detroit) was taken into custody for allegedly firing a rifle at his ex-wife’s car following an argument earlier that morning.
[Editor’s note: contrary to early reports, the official police report states that Smith fired a rifle, not a shotgun, at his ex-wife’s vehicle, not his girlfriend’s. This article has been updated to reflect these changes. Also, the police report alleges that Smith was naked during the incident.]

No....really...the size in some cases is a sawed off shot gun...but there’s a high probability if treatment gets delayed that the poor soul is left with nothing but a flaccid partial sling shot, not responsive to any stimulus any more!

No weapons for legislators. Electronic tethers on all legislators. Part-time legislatures - no perks, no bennies, no medical, no retirement. They’ve done enough damage.

I say, give this guy -and- his ex-wife some loaded firearms and put them both, naked of course, out in a big field somewhere about 50 feet apart.
