On Sunday, Michigan state senator Virgil Smith (D-Detroit) was taken into custody for allegedly firing a rifle at his ex-wife’s car following an argument earlier that morning.
[Editor’s note: contrary to early reports, the official police report states that Smith fired a rifle, not a shotgun, at his ex-wife’s vehicle, not his girlfriend’s. This article has been updated to reflect these changes. Also, the police report alleges that Smith was naked during the incident.]

Perhaps...but did I read that correct? The guy was naked in his car when the cops arrived and took him into custody?
Drug test? Bath salts usage? Oh, I’m guessing the cops skipped that deal...but I’m willing to put a hundred bucks that he was doped up on something when this occurred, and it’s probably Bath Salts. Maybe the state legislature ought to require all of their members to walk in and do a drug test once or twice a year.

Now to be fair, his ex running in the house and confronting his new girlfriend (or whatever) and taking a chair to the windows of the house is not what is considered norm either. Lucky he didn’t shoot the ex. Guess he just had to shoot something.
