Islam cannot reform. Why? Because of the very nature of the written word of their omniscient creator. How does their creator tell its followers - “I was wrong to say this and now it should be said like this.” - when they are taught their creator’s words are never wrong. There is the concept of abrogation (a previous verse is made obsolete by a newer verse) in Islam but the very idea that the creator changes its mind is non existent in Islam.
Reformation set forth by followers of Islam would be saying just that - their creator is not infallible but can make mistakes. This concept that the creator changes its mind and or philosophy by itself goes against every teaching in Islam. Reformation can not happen in Islam without removing a great many of its ideologies, practices and teachings. To reform Islam would have to rewrite the Quran in its entirety. This fundamental transformation would completely destroy Islam by rocking and shaking the very core (pillars) in which its followers believe. This would be akin to the Catholics saying we were wrong about Mary of Magdalene and that yes Jesus did marry Mary of Magdalene and had a family with her. This concept would completely change the view of Jesus as a Christian saviour and the very core of Christianity. Yes it is that profound. This is why reformation in the Islamic faith would destroy it.
Whilst the cries go out for an Islamic Reformation there can never be an Islamic reformation due to the fact that Islam by its very nature has been set up for no room for reformation. There is no leeway in the Islamic teachings. The only way Islam can be reformed is the destruction of the texts and teachings and to begin anew. Something Islam is not prepared or even willing to do. If one has read not only the Quran but also the Hadiths this becomes as clear as snow on a cold winter’s day.
To reform Islam is to destroy everything Islam is and stands for. That will never happen in a million years. Those million years cannot come fast enough.
I understand that Catholicism has gone through several changes but I put this to you, do we compare Islam and Christianity (mainly the Catechisms in the Catholic faith) or do we say Islam must stand on its own merits? I for one am of the belief that Islam must stand alone when it is being criticized. We must look at the deeds, actions and teachings of Islam as a whole and completely separate from all other religious teachings. We must do this instead of deferring the argument to what Christianity has done and by the very argument saying well if Christianity has done this so it must be okay for Islam to do it as well. This is a false assumption and one muslims routinely employ when debating the merits and actions of Islam. They will bring in subjects like the Inquisition or the Native Americans and how their land was stolen (to which I have successfully shot down every argument any muslim has brought up in this realm). They will always defer the argument to something else in order to justify their stance. If Islam cannot stand upon its own two feet and be able to justify itself and its actions, then it cannot be wholly justified in the eyes of any person on this planet. This in and of itself is just another reason why Islam cannot be reformed.
Taqiyyah.
Islam is a death cult.
When they condemn violence, its usually to wriggle out of responsibility for Islamic savagery to the innocent.
Not that they really mean to abolish jihad: its central to Islam.
Contrary to what liberals and the mass media would have people believe, Islam is not the Religion Of Peace.
In fact, its the exact opposite.
Well, interestingly enough, a case DID come up in Mo's life, where a Jewish women wrote mocking poems about him.
Mo had her murdered.
If thats so, then the question that begs to be asked is this: Can violence then never justify bigoted speech?
That precisely what I perceive to be the common Muslim position. They kill, maim, rape and plunder, and we stay quiet, lest we offend.
Thats morally obtuse and repugnant, but what can you say? Hey, these barbarians were raised on repugnance.
After 9/11 I noticed the Muslims speaking out invariably said “It’s awful, but ...”. This has not changed. There are rarely unqualified condemnations.
They need to come out boldly. They need to have demonstrations against the violence. They are living in fear of themselves perhaps, but they have to make dramatic statements.
If CAIR wants to be taken seriously as desiring peace, let them deliver, bound and gagged, with supporting evidence, the 71 sleeper agents claimed by ISIS, to the nearest Federal Marshals.
FOX and the MSM to be given sufficient advance warning so that full, real-time coverage is broadcast. (break into the Oprah Show!)
Local mosques to assemble crowds, carrying large signs in English & Arabic, proclaiming “DEATH to Jihadists!”
Then we will begin to take you seriously.
(For your next act, you can deliver the Imams preaching Jihad in American mosques. You charge them with “defaming Mohammed” and “bringing dishonor upon Islam”.)
The Feds appear too reluctant to help you “clean up your act”. You really don’t want the “good ole boys” doing it for you. They would have a hard time “telling the wheat from the tares”. Quicker, cleaner, neater and FAR less collateral damage if you would clean up your own act!
As an earlier Poster said, “Actions speak louder than words”!
Why it goes unheard they ask?
Its because you can’t hear something that goes unsaid.
If anything they celebrate the violence. Case in point 9/11 where they were celebrating in Dearborn Michigan.
The answer is simple, NO ONE BELIEVES YOU!!!!!!!!
Their socalled condemnation of violence is a bald faced lie. First, they very seldom even say it. But most importantly, their entire religion, socalled, is built on over a hundred commandments and exortations and teachings to attack murder subjugate the infidels Christians Jews and other innocent people -,-and their socalled prophet was a lying thieving warlord or mercenary soldier who himself set the example by slaughtering many innocent non-,Moslems, entering and then breaking fake peace treaties, and raping captive civilians etcf. Finally, if they quote a peaceable verse of their Koran, remember that they do not follow it. The peaceful part of Mohammed’s life was in his youth, the murdering part was later The Moslems explicitly teach that later verses overrule earlier ones ( which makes some sense) — this means they actually teach and follow all the worst verses commanding violence aggression subjugation of murder of non- Moslems. Anyone who says otherwise is ignorant, or is deliberately lying to you about Islam. If the speaker is a Moslem, then you know he’s lying to you —,-and Koran contains instruction that lying to non- Moslems to advance the spread of Islam taking over the world is just fine with their socalled god.
religion of pigs
Because only a tiny minority speaks out and condemns the violence of millions of others.
If a tree doesn’t fall but lots of people are listening, does it make a noise?
Maybe because it is the foundation of their so-called religion and it is commanded in their holy book?
Ditto. In the Catholic mass, just before Communion, we turn to each other, shake hands, and say “peace be with you.” We know what they are saying in mosques all over the world and in our country.
With the other, they cut your head off.
Gee, I wonder why the rest of America doesn't think "peace" is their goal?
The article that I linked to points out that the widespread availability of printed Koran (and widespread literacy) are both relatively recent developments. At one time, the troublesome passages could be ignored or explained away - spiritualized.
That toothpaste is now out of the tube.
Actions Speak Louder than Words, this guy was among the Muslim Community and no one turned him in.
As we found out with the Boston bomber, he was surrounded by radicals and protected by the Muslim community.
Because they basically whisper their objection, go to their website. Is it a big deal or no? Answer,”no, unworthy of comment.”
