Mitch McConnell to Conservatives: Drop Dead
conservativehq.com ^ | 4/24/15 | George Rasley

Yesterday’s Senate vote on the confirmation of Loretta Lynch, President Obama’s nominee to succeed Attorney General Eric Holder, was a classic example of why talk among conservatives of forming a third party alternative to the establishment Republican Party will not die.

Not only did the usual jelly-backed Senate Republicans vote to confirm Lynch, they were led by Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, whose job is, ostensibly, to be the leader of the conservative opposition to Obama and his lawless progressive agenda.

In moving the Lynch nomination McConnell broke a pre-election promise that no attorney general nominee would be considered in his Senate if that nominee supported Obama’s executive amnesty, something that Lynch testified she supports.

So McConnell’s vote for Lynch was a sort of “go to hell” moment that conservatives should recognize for what it is: Mitch McConnell saying directly to the conservative Republican grassroots and the conservative movement that opposed Lynch that, despite the fact that conservative voters handed back the Senate majority to the Republican Party in 2014 to make him Senate Majority Leader, he not only doesn’t care what they think, he will go out of his way to disrespect them and confound their policy goals.

Lynch, who testified under oath that she would readily carry out policies contrary to the Constitution could have – indeed should have – been stopped by Republicans in the Senate, but she wasn’t.

In fact ten Republicans voted for Lynch, despite a substantial outpouring of conservative opposition from the grassroots of the Republican Party, the conservative blogospere and conservative commentators and opinion writers all of whom argued that Loretta Lynch would be as bad or worse than Eric Holder –

I could be wrong, but given the record thus far, it seems like McConnell and Boner are 0bama's bitches.

Meet the new boss, same as the old boss.

I have to suspect that real conservatives are in the minority. Otherwise, how would these characters keep getting elected?

McConnell and Boehner both need to swing from dockyard cranes. And left to rot.

After we treat the current occupants of the White House to the same justice.

Have no fear; the GOPe minions will pollute FreeRepublic next year, telling us we have to vote for the “R” candidate no matter what, else the horrible “D” will win.

I tend to forget the Republicans even exist now since most are voting with the Democrats on all the important things and ignoring the American people. I used to think they were too scared and needed encouragement. Nope. They are too corrupt and all they care about is money, power and holding their seats. They lie to get re-elected and then proceed as usual to destroy what is left of our country. Only a handful stand up against this tyranny. The leadership is disgraceful and shameless and they believe they can fool their voters like Obama does his voters. Wrong! They believe they can get votes from the many refugees and illegals because they want them for cheap labor for the chamber of commerce but they will never vote Democrat lite when they can get the real thing.

It is almost like they have something up their sleeve that the don’t expect to need the conservative vote which is 40% of the people by some polls.

As our FRiend Dick Bachert observed, they don't need us anymore - they can manufacture enough votes and print enough cash to win any election they choose.

McConnell needs to be honest and just put a D behind his name.

So McConnell’s vote for Lynch was a sort of “go to hell” moment

That is exactly what I thought yesterday when I saw his name on the list of Republicans that voted for her. I wanted to think there was something less childish about it, but it just had that feel to it. Yet we will turn on talk radio today, and listen to the list yammer on, and on about Hillary, as if there is anyone in America with a functioning brain that doesn't know she is evil. While low information Republican voters fall back into their stupor, waiting for the next election cycle to be told how brave, and conservative these rinos are, and will dutifully punch the ballot for the liars.

Any Constitutional experts in the audience?

What good would that do? We left those waters years ago.

Of course. When you vote for the lesser of 2 evils, eventually all you have is evil. Here we are.

My thoughts were that the Republicans know Lynch will be all for the illegals invading our country and all they care about is the chamber of commerce and cheap labor. They can go out and complain to look good to their voters and even have hearings to look concerned but that is all for show. I know when Romney was asked what he regretted most about losing his election, he said he should have reached out more to Hispanics. Now what does that tell you???

Preach it!!! I'm so sick of hearing that ignorant, worn out BS. Conservative or go home, and I got news for all the stockholm syndrome/battered women syndrome voters out there: there are few Conservatives in the GOP.

I have to suspect that real conservatives are in the minority. Otherwise, how would these characters keep getting elected?

Back before November, I argued in countless threads that people needed to vote for Allison Grimes for the express purpose of ridding ourselves of traitor backstabber Mitch McConnell.

A huge swath of people said: "Oh No! I could *NEVER* bring myself to vote for a Democrat!"

No matter how I pointed out that McConnell would be worse, it was always "Oh No! I could *NEVER* bring myself to vote for a Democrat!"

Well what we have now is worse. And he's been emboldened by his election victory.
