A House investigatory panel has summoned Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton to testify at a May 18 public hearing about her use of a private email server during her tenure as secretary of state.
The panel, which is probing the September 2012 terrorist attacks on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya, has scheduled a second public hearing one month later, on June 18, to grill Clinton about Benghazi.
Both hearings are contingent upon Clinton providing "a complete record" about her role before, during and after the attacks, which killed U.S. Ambassador Chris Stevens and three other Americans.
That may be a long shot.
The hearing dates are included in a letter sent by Benghazi Select Committee Chairman Rep. Trey Gowdy, R-S.C., to Clinton lawyer David Kendall.
Gowdy said he "never intended" to send the message that Clinton could testify privately about Benghazi, but rather the panel would allow her to provide a transcribed interview with the panel only about her private email server.

Um. Been a long time since I had the hard stuff. Do they still make it in fifths? Or have they gone metric?
What difference does it make? These committees are a waste of time. They'd be better off setting researches at it, and coming up with and making public record all of the stuff that hillary has been involved in.
One can't help but wonder if the concern is how many 'pubs will also be brought down by revelations.
The only way the DC stench will ever be cleared out is if everyone involved, across the political spectrum, ends up in jail for a very long time.

She won’t show up. Lanny Davis will send Gowdy a nice letter claiming scheduling conflicts, and Gowdy doesn’t have the balls to hold her in contempt and then drag her into jail.
Chelsea is not old enough and would crash and burn the very first day.
Gowdy’s wasting time. It’s all for show. Nothing will come of it and Hillary will simply stonewall. Obama’s got her back.
Chelsea will be a Senator from New York.
