Yeah, I know it is hard at times and I understand the pessimistic side too. I think at some point things will settle out but I think as time goes on, we all will have to pay a price. Some of us might have to put it all on line, others less so, but stand to lose a lot, but I see troubled times ahead if we do not change course. The current system cannot stand. I don't know how it will fall but it will. It could whimper out when the money stops flowing or maybe something happens where part or all the power grid goes down, There could be an internal civil war or an atomic war. I admit I'm a libertarian for the most part but if there is a collapse, it will bring back personal responsibility and accountability, there will be no more "Uncle Sugar" to pick you up and take over the results of the bad deeds. It's like the "free love" movement, there is no such thing as free love and no one is really forced to be accountable and responsible for their deeds. Same with other things too. Example, when I key up the transmitter on my amateur radio, I'm responsible for that signal. The same is true is if I have sex that results in bringing a life into the world, I am responsible for that child along with the mother. That's a good example but responsibility has gone out the window and that is a huge part of things.
However, I have another thought. I get into it on Civil War debate of the the cause of the war about slavery. I was thinking one day about slavery in general and there are sometimes I wonder if there are some people who would be content to be a slave. Maybe not in the old sense where you have a master like in old Rome or the antebellum South but they want to be told what to do and/or cared for in exchange for security such as a place to live, "three hots and a cot," cable TV, a car, medical care and so forth. That's what the welfare system creates in a defacto sense. They get their goodies for their votes in exchange. Then you can add into the mix where they pop out the next generation left and right to continue the cycle. To them, this is job security but no upward mobility.

Thank you
I have nothing against Mr Hale in particular but he’s all ad hominem with no disclosure of his ideas of action so far
I’d sincerely like to hear them

Wasn’t meant that way, brother. Not at all.

Agree.
There are more immigrants in this country than ever before. They’re not encouraged to assimilate-—rather, the opposite. We’re swamped.
When whites become a minority, we’re going to look back fondly on the days of Republican presidents.

Good call. I’d forgotten about that.

Having lived in SoCal for many decades I’m way more familiar with this than I care to be. Old stock white Americans are very much a minority now. This is a colony of the 3rd world, legal as well as illegal. From all over the globe, and at best semi-assimilated. The numbers are large enough that the American culture we grew up with is somewhat of a novelty.
There is often an undercurrent of hostility against America even amongst the “good” legal immigrant communities. I used to have the opportunity to see their ethnic newspapers on a regular basis and you didn’t have to look far to find some article with the theme that white Americans are intolerant racists and things of that sort. And I’m not talking about the huge Mexican community saying this. These are educated and wealthy 3rd world immigrants.
I recall a Chinese girl selected as valedictorian at UC Irvine one year whose speech could have been written by one of Obama’s race baiting pals. Not a shred of thanks to America for providing her with a great education.
So pessimism... it’s not that it’s just facing reality, seeing things as they are playing out here. And will be playing out all over what used to be called the United States before its time came to an end by means of immigration.

Well, that is not to say there are not virtuous people who would make for a great leader (president) today...
There are very few, but they are not all extinct...
What the real problem is there are very few people who vote (in numbers sufficient) to elect one of those people...
To define “virtue” is to understand that even though this is mainly conferred as a biblical term, the tone should be simply that it is the knowledge and application of understanding the difference between right and wrong...
Something sorely lacking in todays culture(s)...Worldwide...

Ohhhh, I forgot...
When you can sell yourself to the un-witting masses of today’s pop culture zombies, as someone who can mask your wrongdoings and get (a majority) to laugh, and dismiss, those critics of their activities off as prudes...
Win/Win...(i.e.: every frappin’ democrat/liberal/socialist walking the planet today)

I always saw myself as a "Beck-Head" but where I differ from Beck is on this issue. Sure, I do agree deep dow nthat King was right about the content of character, not on one's looks or race. I hesitate the beatification of King because I often wonder i he would have joined the ranks of Jessie Jackson and Al Sharpton in playing the Race Card. Also, there was a belief that he was a Communist, my maternal grandmother always thought so.
BTW, I always thought Beck had the worse taste in bumper music, his current opening theme is horrible, the singer sounds like he's singing out of his butt. I cringe when I hear it.

Jesse Jackson was part of King’s entourage so that should throw some light on that question. And King had two senior advisors, Stanley Levison and Hunter Pitts Odell, who were members of the CPUSA when it was a tool of Stalin and Khrushchev during the Cold War. It was that association that earned King his FBI wiretaps.
“I do agree deep down that King was right about the content of character”
You should always be wary of the words of politicians and political activists. What they say is usually calculated to evoke a response in the listener and usually does not reveal everything that the speaker is up to.
