Oklahoma introduced a law allowing it to use nitrogen gas to kill death row prisoners if lethal injections aren't available.
Governor Mary Fallin signed into law a bill approving nitrogen as an alternative method of death, giving Oklahoma four different ways to enact its death penalty.
The method, which involves pumping a chamber full of nitrogen and leaving a prisoner's body to die from lack of oxygen, has been touted as 'foolproof' by supporters, in the wake of the embarrassingly botched lethal injections.
Executions in the state are currently on hold while the Supreme Court ponders whether the three-drug mix now favored by Oklahoma is constitutional.

They put me under when I had my shoulder surgery. It was like time travel. In mid breath I was suddenly waking up in a room hours later.
I understand the reason the anesthesiologist is so well paid is because he keeps you close to death without you actually dying.
So, how about states just hire really bad anesthesiologists to do the same thing but that go ahead and tip you over the edge?

Except for the “bad anesthesiologist” part, I’m dead serious.
If you insist, I guess they could purchase a gas-powered generator and watch episodes of Laverne & Shirley.
Small gas engines will kill you in very short order indeed.

But the bigger question is where will they get the nitrogen? It’s not like they can pull it out of the air.

The only problem with that is you are allowing the police, by the sheer fact of arrect, to be the judge and jury.
I’m not comfortable with that; the police FREQUENTLY make mistakes.
I’m all for the death penalty.... but I don’t want the cops to apply it.
Why don’t they just starve them to death? They say it is euphoric like when they did this to Terry Schiovo.
Another way would be to do it like they do abortions. Punch a hole in their head and suck the brains out! Libs say these are acceptable ways for them.

If they pipe in some Nitrous Oxide, then the the prisoner can be happy for the rest of his life..........It's death, don't be sad, be happy let's party! Personally I say shoot the bastards.

Bunk. The murderer who shot a woman and then buried her alive died a good death, and had time to contemplate on his general stupidity before expiring.

Been there, done that. You are correct. I soon experienced tunnel vision and the Sergeant said I turned red as a beet before going back on oxygen.
No pain at all.
If anyone complains about it afterward then that's a good indication.
Having damn-near died of an asthma attack, I can tell you it really was blissful. I had all but one foot in heaven and was yanking hard to pull it through. Alas, I survived, thank God, and went on to have my twins. But I fear not death anymore.
With Nitrogen? Are you serious? You can get nitrous oxide at your dentist, but hopefully not fatal concentrations..
Modern cars emit less than 1% of the CO of cars from the 90s and earlier.

Correct , In many parts of the world (China) with heavy pollution the exhaust from a modern car is cleaner than the air it takes in.

Do you happen to know if it’s still possible to CO yourself by running the car in the garage? I was unable to find a definitive answer.
BTW, there are still quite a number of ways to CO yourself that people don’t realize.
Run a 3 horse compressor in a garage with the big door open all the way and two windows open for cross-ventilation, and you can hit lethal levels in less than 10 minutes. Depends on wind and other factors.
People have also been poisoned operating equipment under an overhang or in parking garages.
