I am also impressed with his ability to remain cool, calm and patient when responding to difficult questions. He takes opportunities to educate when he responds. He is respectful. He speaks well.
Contrast this to Obama’s childish knee-jerk reactions and thin-skinned answers. You literally see him bristle if he doesn’t like a question or someone disagrees with him. He takes everything personally of course because it’s all about him.
Indeed the pressures will accumulate as the campaign advances. I think Cruz will be able to handle it well.

Exactly. I predict that the grassroots swell of support will materialize for Ted Cruz like hasn’t been seen in most of our lifetimes. I thought that the same would have been there for Sarah Palin in 2012 if she had chosen to run, she didn’t. This time, it will materialize for Sen. Ted Cruz!

I am pretty sure that you are right about that!
The primaries make it fleeting. A small and regional (northeast, south) minority of Republicans and Democrats (in open primaries) do the primary weeding out of the field, and it happens faster than a stone drops. Newt (who as flawed as he was, at least held some semblance of limited government philosophy, however distorted) was ousted long before I had any say, and so was Fred Thompson. See even right now, Fox is doing the same to Cruz that it did to Thompson -- pretending he doesn't exist, barely even mentioning him in political discussions of Republican candidates.
I say "fleeting" because the opportunity to nominate Cruz will be gone before we know it, pissed away. The same way Romney and McCain got the nomination.
And we'll be in November of 2016, in the same place we were in 2012 and 2008: vote for more government either way.
