"If we must have an enemy at the head of Government, let it be one whom we can oppose, and for whom we are not responsible, who will not involve our party in the disgrace of his foolish and bad measures." - Alexander Hamilton |

"We don't intend to turn the Republican Party over to the traitors in the battle just ended. We will have no more of those candidates who are pledged to the same goals as our opposition and who seek our support. Turning the Party over to the so-called moderates wouldnt make any sense at all." -- President Ronald Reagan |

"If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen." - Samuel Adams |

Is it time to vote yet?
Keep praying. November 2016 will be here before we know it. Hopefully the damage being done in this administration can be reversed.

As the story goes, the Senator [Cruz] sat at a desk, picked up a computer mouse inquisitively, and proceeded to speak into the mouse with his best Scottish brogue, Computer! Computer! as though expecting the computer to respond to his voice. Now that's funny right there, I don't care who you are! {^)

What's not to like? I like Ted Cruz but this is the first time I heard he has libertarian leanings. Every libertarian I have ever met, listened to on the radio, seen on television, and read about, you do not have to scratch hard to find out it always comes down to two things - drugs and prostitution.
Legalize every drug there is.
Let prostitutes roam freely without hassle.
I have yet to find one that is that worried about the national debt, abuse and abandonment of the Constitution, Fed Gov over-reach, etc. If the find out that you do not support the legalization of drugs and prostitution, they do not want to support you. No 80% people with them.

On pain-capable right to life legislation: I strongly support pain-capable legislation. As a matter of principle, we should not have exceptions. But I will also take incremental gains. It's not a gain. It's immoral and unconstitutional to grant permission in the statutes to kill babies.

Snort! I’d like to see a clip of that!
Today I went in for an annual checkup and since my doctor and I have discussed politics in the past, we again had a good discussion. She is most enthusiastic about Ted Cruz. When I told her I had volunteered for his campaign, she wanted to know how to get involved. This lady is very respected in our community. Her support would mean a Lot.
I also told her about Free Republic. She wrote down all the information and said she would definitely check it out.
If we freepers can just talk to one or two people every day and tell them about Cruz it will make a difference.

You have a very narrow range of associates, then. I am a small 'l' libertarian that believes States hold the power on drugs and on prostitution in accordance with their 10th Amendment Police powers. The feds should not be involved.
I also believe that abortion is murder.
I think you are confusing the Libertarian Party with libertarian beliefs.
They are two very different things.
I am a small 'l' libertarian. I do not, and could not, be associated with the Libertarian party.

There is no difference between libertarianism and the party they formed.
If you don’t adhere to pure libertarianism then fine, but you can’t tell people that those things are not libertarian.
The party is where libertarians with the courage, put their confused and elusive white wine theories into actual political positions and enter the political arena.

Hear, hear Johnny. i utterly detest the Libertarian party. But objectively speaking, my political views are somewhere in that area. Hard conservative with libertarian viewS.

Good. Makes it interesting.
To: RKBA Democrat
Not a soapbox at all, just a simple post about libertarianism, the kind of thing that you should expect to see see at a conservative site.
