Russia has lifted a ban on supplying Iran with a sophisticated air defence missile system, the Kremlin has said.

Delivery of the S-300 system was cancelled in 2010 after the UN imposed sanctions on Iran over its nuclear programme.

But the Russian president gave the go-ahead after Tehran struck a deal with world powers curbing nuclear activities in exchange for sanctions relief.

broke about an hour ago.

Now that Obama has "Stuck a deal" with Iran over nukes, the Russians no longer see a reason to block the sale of S-300's to them.

Actions... Consequences... And all that.

This explains why the Russians vouched for Kerry's claim of a deal, rather than the mullahs scoffing and denying any deal was struck. The Russians wanted the arms sales.

If we had a President who gave a damn about America, we’d cancel the Iran discussions and deploy our Anti-Ballistic Missile System in Poland.

(yes....I know those ABMs aren’t intended for use against the S-300’s, but that’s not the point.)

Per Interfax, “The implementation of the Russian-Iranian contract for the S-300 will take up to one and a half years” to complete, but lots of articles say they can begin supplying the missiles “almost immediately”.

In fact S-300 is a yesterday system. It has to be sold by Russia because the Chinese has copied the technology already and would gladly put their version on market. Why give them this market?

It just gets worse and worse.
I think it’s unlikely Israel will let them become operational.

This development was made possible by the same leftists who want to sue gun stores out of existence on the premise that the weapons they sell may be used in crimes. Think about it for a moment. Now Putin is the gun store, but since those missiles will be used on filthy jews, our political left sees no problem.

Pretty smart on their part. Since Obola gave the green light on the deal, anything that goes wrong will be blamed on him. They have perfect cover to make a lot of money. Obama is owned again

The Israeli’s demonstrated that they can “Work around” the system in Syria. We also most likely have a work-around for it.

But do the Saudi’s and Egyptians have a work-around for it?

The world seems hell-bent on nuking Israel out of existence. Think Allah (Satan) and the NWO have anything to do with it?

I see a big opportunity for the American arms merchants.

It would depend on the version as to how "yesterday" it is. The Patriot is dated, but there's a difference between PAC-1 and PAC-3 capability.

SCUDs are beyond yesterday, but Israel doesn't want them making their way from Syria to Hezbollah hands in Lebanon.

Well that’s bovine excrement. It’s “a frameworK”. And they won’t live up to it if they do.

I don’t think there was S-300 in Syria after 1980s.
I think Cyprus/Greece, South Korea and China are only nations who got it outside of former Soviet bloc. Germany took over East German units after unification, USAF bought one from Russia in 1990s to evaluate during MIM-104 development but it hasn’t entered service in either Germany or US.
