Those dogs won’t hunt.

I’m still waiting for the “startling expose” on Soros and the rest of the liberal billionaires that bankroll liberal and socialist candidates.

They obviously meant to say "started with IBM"...but the editor had to prune out a few words, and I guess the ones than make Cruz's backers look more like plutocrats are the best, aren't they? :)

A reclusive Long Islander who started IBM? Gee...that would make him really (really) old.

I had the same thought, but then I realized they left out the "at."

I remember Newt’s donor were behind him too. That is what politics are about today....money. However, I would rather that then have the federal government give money to candidates. I hate that a lot. This way my tax money doesn’t go to a candidate I don’t want.

As a Jew in Hungary in 1944, Soros was in serious danger of deportation. To avoid Soros’ apprehension by the Nazis, his father had him spend the summer of 1944 living with a non-Jewish Ministry of Agriculture employee, posing as his godson. George Soros later said that he “grew up in a Jewish, anti-Semitic home,” and that his parents were “uncomfortable with their religious roots.” They even changed their name from Shwartz to Soros in 1936 to disassociate themselves from the Jewish community.

Well he was Jewish as far as the Nazis were concerned and that is why as a Nazi collaborator he turned in his own people so he could live at their expense. Soros can call himself whatever he wants, excuse his treachery any way he wants but he will answer for it in the afterlife. I really don't care what he calls himself, I and millions of others know exactly what he is. Pelosi calls herself a Catholic, I don't care, Obama calls himself an American, I don't care, Warren calls herself an Indian, I don't care. The point being that you can call yourself whatever you want but it doesn't change the underlying truth. I really don't see the point in your defending his not being Jewish, but hey that's your privilege.

So what?

Billionaires are fighting over who gets the lion's share of the profit from the company store. "We The People" will still be at the mercy of that company store no matter who wins.

When "We The People" get uppity and want an alternative to the company store, they bring in immigrants to replace the uppity folks. When "We The People" get skills they need, those immigrants are H-1B Visa folks and when "We The People" only have our labor and time to sell, any immigrant will do.

"We The People" were duped into believing that limits on monopoly power and protecting domestic industry were the same thing as limits on free commerce so the means to create wealth was sucked up and concentrated into very few hands rather than being widely distributed among working people

We allowed a Nobility to be created and now we're either among the Nobility or we're not and shares of stock or some gold in your gun safe isn't enough keep you from being numbered among the "we're not" when push comes to shove.

"We The People" bleat every few years, sometimes for Federal Congressmen, sometimes for President, but we gave up being anything other than sheep a long time ago. Ted Cruz is married to a VP at Goldman, of course he has billionaire backers. I'd be shocked if he didn't.

Whether or not he has the balls to stand up to those billionaires on issues that matter to working people and the economy as it impacts working people once he's in office is the real issue and that remains to be seen.

Scott Walker has taken the bull by the horns on several occasions yet he isn't as popular as Cruz and to the best of my knowledge, Walker doesn't have any billionaire backers. What does that say? I really don't know, maybe something, maybe nothing.

Good. It is about time somebody with a boat load of money supported our side. Time to get rid of the boomers. I’m one of them and not proud of them as politicians at all.
