I have been a full time mother and then a full time nurse when they were in school.....a full time mother is by far the hardest job without a paycheck and doing the same thing day after day...fix breakfast, pick up dirty clothes, wash them and in my day also iron them. Put up with arguments I had 5 children in 7 years etc etc....nurse, work 8 hours, get nice pay check, it sure helped keeping the kids in clothes and shoes...hubby thanked me many times for working and lifting some of the pressure off him to keep the growing family going. I did work as a waitress for the 3 months before starting nursing and put the tip money in a jar in the cupboard. Any time he took money out, he left me a thank you note which was nice but like his money, my earning were just part of the family finances....had to tell him to quit thanking me....he was a gem. (most of the time LOL)

My wife and I have four.....3 sons age 17, 15, and 12. We have a 7 year old daughter too......the reason for 4 kids is we wanted a daughter and had a dickens of a time getting her. We suffered through 3 miscarriages. Tough times but God had the plan and gave us a beautiful little girl on his timeframe.
I see some big families during Mass too and it is not a Hispanic Mass so things are turning for the better but again on God’s time table.

Most gays just want the party so why not just have a party and say we are having a party please join us for the afternoon of food and dance with a cake that says happy day. Why ruin marriage....just have a party! Heck even have the DJ and give out a gift to the guest to take with them. Heck if you REALLY want the gifts tell them to bring you a gift. Anything to keep marriage intact I am ok with.

Agreed. My mother and father got married by the priest in the rectory (because my father, though baptized, was not a practicing Catholic) and they had 2 witnesses. Later, a reception at Aunt Clara's home, maybe 20 guests. Cost: well, I don't know, it was 1948, but it was very low.
Fast forward to 1988, when Don-o and I got married. It was in a Catholic church already lavishly decorated with poinsettias (it was on Dec 31), had a kind of pot-luck reception in the home of a friend, spent maybe $200 total.
What is the purpose of a wedding? Conspicuous consumption?
And we were, and are, conspicuously happy.

This is interesting. Where I am marriage among the young is almost a proof positive sign that one is upper middle class. And these families are having three to five children. Status symbols, not sure. But if they can afford them they are having them.

Has the fasting been dropped from our national day of prayer? How does God view our day of prayer when our legal system is an abomination?

As filthy rags, I would say. Never mind the current president trampling the meaning of such a day under foot.

And gay "marriage" is opening the way for Islamic polygamy.
Now that's progressive!
