The Next President Must Reclaim The Constitution For We The People
Conservative HQ ^ | George Rasley | George Rasley

No matter where the various candidates and potential candidates for President stand on the issues the establishment media chooses to deem important there are two issues that conservatives and even some liberals see as qualifiers ranking before all others – does the candidate speak the language of the Constitution and is he or she prepared to reclaim the Constitution on behalf of We the People?

So far as we have observed only two candidates or potential candidates for President have distinguished themselves in this manner – Senator Ted Cruz of Texas and Senator Rand Paul of Kentucky.

Our CHQ colleague Mark J. Fitzgibbons posted an article on The American Thinker “Ted Cruz starts with words of action about the Constitution” dissecting the Ted Cruz announcement in which he identified why Ted Cruz’s announcement was an immediate hit with conservatives: “Senator Ted Cruz began his bid for the presidency with an appropriately active, as opposed to passive, choice of words that ‘[i]t is a time to reclaim the Constitution of the United States’.”

Conservatives frequently use the phrase “restoring the Constitution.” It is a sad enough commentary, wrote Fitzgibbons that we must restore what Founder and America’s Fourth U.S. Supreme Court Chief Justice John Marshall referred to in Marbury v. Madison as our “fundamental and paramount law.”

-SNIP-

Ted Cruz is a constitutionalist who is familiar with the roots of the American rule of law. He has clearly distinguished his vision from that of President Obama, who has flaunted his lawlessness says Fitzgibbons.

With all that has happened under Obama, jobs, health care, IRS, Iran, massive deficits, Israel, he has 50% approval rating right now.

If you believe polls, IMHO you're a lost cause. Polls are bought, paid for and designed to sway opinion, not measure it.

Of course half-black zero DID win. But only 55% of eligible voters voted, and Dumbkoff won by less than 6% in Florida, Ohio, Virginia, Colorado, Pennsylvania, New Hampshire, and Iowa, less than 1% in FL. Hardly a mandate, and he was running against Mormon Willard from the Gay State (which Willard lost.)

Boehner, McCain, and other complicit Repubs need to be in jail, too.

Obama has been using something called an "Executive Action" or "Executive Memorandum", which avoids the public notice associated with an "Executive Order."

Supposedly, "executive actions" also have a watered down legal effect, compared with an Executive Order - but I'd speculate they are quite similar in effect against federal government agencies.

It isn’t so much the quantity as it is the ‘quality’.

If FR can't even get the actual number of EOs right, how do you think they do on what is actually inside those documents?

The Constitution exists but it doesn’t mean very much except as an instrument to be side-stepped in order for the “people” to get what they want through voting for Progressive candidates and policies.

(It will only be “restored” when the whole robbing-the-treasury frame of mind stops.)

IMHO

There will be no reclaiming the Constitution. No President can promise it, and no Congress can deliver it.

Freedom, once you’ve lost it, isn’t ‘restored’. No history in no country would support the idea you could simply reclaim rights taken from any people.

Once you lose freedom, there is only one way to get it back:

You have to fight for it and take it back.

No ballot box is going to do that for you. Every dictatorship in the world has a ballot. Doesn’t mean anything.

This is not the most pleasant truth to present on a fine spring day, but it is the truth nonetheless.

You can make yourself feel a little better if you don’t forget that the founders considered all of this as experimental - it had never been done before.

They warned us that as soon as we realized we could vote ourselves any thing we wanted, we would, and when we did, it would come to an end.

This is what the end feels like. The entire ME at war, Europe with a currency collapse, and we are going to give Iran the Bomb. Oh, and we elected an Islamic radical to the presidency, twice, because we were afraid somebody might call us a racist.

What happened in the USSR is going to happen here. There will be choice of fighting about a split, or going our separate ways amicably. Some of the liberal states will fight, because suddenly there is nothing but air beneath their entire civilization and the ground of economic and political reality.

Blocks of states will say, “You WILL have to take a test in order to come live here, and if you don’t like it, don’t apply.”

However, 50 united states is going to come to an end sometime soon.
