The Next President Must Reclaim The Constitution For We The People
Conservative HQ ^ | George Rasley | George Rasley

No matter where the various candidates and potential candidates for President stand on the issues the establishment media chooses to deem important there are two issues that conservatives and even some liberals see as qualifiers ranking before all others – does the candidate speak the language of the Constitution and is he or she prepared to reclaim the Constitution on behalf of We the People?

So far as we have observed only two candidates or potential candidates for President have distinguished themselves in this manner – Senator Ted Cruz of Texas and Senator Rand Paul of Kentucky.

Our CHQ colleague Mark J. Fitzgibbons posted an article on The American Thinker “Ted Cruz starts with words of action about the Constitution” dissecting the Ted Cruz announcement in which he identified why Ted Cruz’s announcement was an immediate hit with conservatives: “Senator Ted Cruz began his bid for the presidency with an appropriately active, as opposed to passive, choice of words that ‘[i]t is a time to reclaim the Constitution of the United States’.”

Conservatives frequently use the phrase “restoring the Constitution.” It is a sad enough commentary, wrote Fitzgibbons that we must restore what Founder and America’s Fourth U.S. Supreme Court Chief Justice John Marshall referred to in Marbury v. Madison as our “fundamental and paramount law.”

-SNIP-

Ted Cruz is a constitutionalist who is familiar with the roots of the American rule of law. He has clearly distinguished his vision from that of President Obama, who has flaunted his lawlessness says Fitzgibbons.

And bring Traitorobama and his regime to justice, with indictment, trial, conviction, and sentencing for giving aid and comfort to the enemy.

The way things are going, the next President will be Obama or his nominee in true Banana Republic fashion. They have the “Law”, they have the banks, they have the health Juggernaut, they have the guns, they have the ammunition, they have the MSM, they have the street thugs, and they are grabbing the internet. Tell me I am wrong.

In your dreams. The GOP is complicit.

Just posted this on another thread:

This is a HUGE reason why the left fears Ted Cruz. He will very skillfully and understandably communicate that the people run the government, not the other way around, spoiling years and years of liberal indoctrination.

I think we would all be stunned if we knew how many Americans believe being ruled by the Washington elite is the way things are supposed to be.

And that can be done by reversing just about 99% of all of Obama’s executive orders, abolishing the EPA and the IRS. So much can be done with a pen and some guts. I pray this next election produces just such a president.

Have you given up before the fight really begins? Because what you say reflects that you have already surrendered.

If you actually look at the number of EOs that Obama put out there, you might be surprised. Words mean things. There are very few EOs. To listen to FR, you would think there are thousands.

Nobody can make good decisions based on false info.

The hearts of the people across this land have greater power than all the evil Obama has wrought.

Thank you for referencing that article kingattax. Please bear in mind that the following critique is directed at the article and not at you.

As a side note concerning the article, please consider the following. With respect to the limited powers that the states have actually delegated to the feds, expressly via the Constitution, to serve the people, and delivering the US Mail (1.8.7) is a biggie, please consider this. Military issues aside, while Obama has been criticized for spending so much time on golf courses, golf courses are arguably where the Founding States had expected presidents to spend most of their time.

The 17th Amendment needs to disappear.

I note that you left out ‘we the people’. I immediately thought of Lincoln’s famous/historical words. These are the words the Founders also meant. These are the words that have meaning even today in spite of all the things you noted that the various groups have. I believe these are more than just words today these are the banner for a US societal revival. Such will happen. I don’t fault you about what you said but I do believe in the old saying that quitters are losers.
