Pence should not have gone on any national media shows. He was raw meat thrown in a tiger cage.
And now any presidential aspirations are gone.
Im sure that Obama and Hillary can coach ANYBODY how to become president. (You might have to lie a little bit.)
AMEN. The media is in a feeding frenzy and no facts, logic or rational discussion will stop this. Pence should have said nothing, but by trying to placate the mob made things worse
He won’t even get re-elected for governor now.
I’m wondering about Pence’s chances for a second term as Governor of Indiana? He’s had two major controversies and backpedals just in 2015. He had to publicly kill the ill-conceived “state news site” a couple months ago, and now he’s stumbled in defending the RFRA law in Indiana.
I’m not saying everything is his fault. I actually think he seems to be a good guy, as far a politicians go. But he’s taking a lot of lumps in a short period of time. And I’m not sure it’s going all blow over by 2016. Especially if Limbaugh’s take is correct.
Well, he shouldn’t have gone on anything unless he was ready to take the offense.
He SHOULD have said “FU you miserable liars! Everyone of you reporters and journ-0-lists are lying about this law. NO ONE SHOULD EVER BE FORCED TO VIOLATE THEIR RELIGION IN THIS COUNTRY, BUT YOU WANT EXACTLY THAT TO HAPPEN!!!! YOU DO NOT TELL THE TRUTH. FU!”
And then walked off.
Pence might have cemented a run for President if he had said something like: One religion in particular, Christianity, is being tyrannized around the world, with its members being murdered and oppressed. I am proud to have signed this legislation to protect religious rights. If someone must take action, if someone must speak up, then I am that man. Let it start here. Let it start with me.
Wanna bet?
“And now any presidential aspirations are gone.”
Another one bites the dust.
That is the position he should have taken, and he should have repeated it over and over and over.
