Apple’s Tim Cook is dangerous and a flaming hypocrite
Red State ^ | 03/30/2015 | By: streiff (Diary)

Posted on 03/30/2015 1:35:15 PM PDT by Responsibility2nd

Ordinarily I wouldn’t concern myself with what some billionaire far-left oligarch thinks. Usually, they don’t think about much beyond making money and having millions of people they neither know or respect suck up to them. Apple’s Steve Jobs made a career of this type of self-important asshattery. His successor, Tim Cook is no different.

Weighing in on the Indiana RFRA law signed by Governor Mike Pence last week, Cook has demonstrated he is not only has distinctly fascistic tendencies (part of the whole billionaire far-left oligarch thing) and scarcely as passing knowledge of the US Constitution and the issue at hand but he is a flaming left-wing hypocrite in the bargain. Pro-discrimination ‘religious freedom’ laws are dangerous.

A wave of legislation, introduced in more than two dozen states, would allow people to discriminate against their neighbors. Some, such as the bill enacted in Indiana last week that drew a national outcry and one passed in Arkansas, say individuals can cite their personal religious beliefs to refuse service to a customer or resist a state nondiscrimination law.

Others are more transparent in their effort to discriminate. Legislation being considered in Texas would strip the salaries and pensions of clerks who issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples — even if the Supreme Court strikes down Texas’ marriage ban later this year. In total, there are nearly 100 bills designed to enshrine discrimination in state law.

These bills rationalize injustice by pretending to defend something many of us hold dear. They go against the very principles our nation was founded on, and they have the potential to undo decades of progress toward greater equality.

The important thing to note here is that Cook arrogates to himself to decide how everyone else should live. His enthusiastic support of homosexuality (and God knows what other -ality, because once you agree that buggery is normal there is, as the Brits would say, **ck all that is abnormal) is not shared by at least a significant plurality of Americans and therefore everyone is wrong but him because $$$$. His disdain for the legislative process is just what we’ve come to expect from the left.

Our message, to people around the country and around the world, is this: Apple is open. Open to everyone, regardless of where they come from, what they look like, how they worship or who they love. Regardless of what the law might allow in Indiana or Arkansas, we will never tolerate discrimination.

Men and women have fought and died fighting to protect our country’s founding principles of freedom and equality. We owe it to them, to each other and to our future to continue to fight with our words and our actions to make sure we protect those ideals. The days of segregation and discrimination marked by “Whites Only” signs on shop doors, water fountains and restrooms must remain deep in our past. We must never return to any semblance of that time. America must be a land of opportunity for everyone.

Here he grossly misstates the issue and tries to equate homosexuality, pedophilia, bestiality, necrophilia (he said “who they love,” not me) with racial equality. As the man said, “I don’t need a bumpersticker for you to know I’m black.” The equating of racial equality and social acceptance of sexual deviants is so grotesque that it defies description. Cook knows, because despite his manifest dishonesty I don’t think he’s a freakin moron, that the Indiana RFRA is the same as the federal law with one minor exception. The Indiana law can be used by parties in cases that do not involve the State of Indiana. This is important, because the sexual deviants that Cook thinks are so noble are engaged in an all-out war on religious people to force them to participate in homosexual marriages. The New Mexico Supreme Court held in the Elaine Photography case (apparently there was only one photographer in the entire state of New Mexico and she refused to document a homosexual pairing engaging in a mockery of marriage) that the New Mexico state RFRA was not relevant because the case involved two private parties.

And there is this howler:

I have great reverence for religious freedom. As a child, I was baptized in a Baptist church, and faith has always been an important part of my life. I was never taught, nor do I believe, that religion should be used as an excuse to discriminate.

This is simply an unmitigated series of lies strung together as an anecdote. The Southern Baptist Convention, the largest grouping of Baptist churches, condemns homosexual marriage. This is in line with 2000 years of Christian theology. If Cook’s faith extended much beyond making money he would know this. If he had any respect for religious freedom he would understand the issue and what is at stake.

More to the point, Tim Cook is not only dishonest but he is a flaming hypocrite. Take a look at the list of countries where Apple has a presence. See any nations that engage in discrimination?

I see it in the same light as “meat sacrificed to idols” in the Bible, as the Apostle Paul talked about it. ALSO ... it’s like what Jesus said in telling the disciples about the wheat and tares.

In the first instance (the meat) it’s not something to be concerned about, although some people are “weak” in their faith and they think it’s a problem.

In the second instance, the wheat and the tares, Jesus said that the tares should be left alone, so to not disturb the wheat.

SO ... I just buy the products for the product itself ... and then ... I go to the ballot box and to my conservative legislators for what to do in the political sphere!

Buy the products for what they do for you and in terms of how they meet your needs! Then vote with the conservatives! ... :-) ...

Start hammering on Microsoft and Android for their Homosexual agendas, which have been quite public and overt!

Apple’s stances are no different than any of their competitors, especially Microsoft.

Whatever gay stuff they do is nothing compared to Tim Kook and Apple. I know this is true because I never even hear about it. Its one thing to do less and do it quietly. Tim Kook is doing this with a big brass band playing "At The YMCA"

Apple is in_yo_face about their gayness and their gay agenda. Its revolting!!

I’m sure that while Cook is encouraging the little guy to boycott Indiana, he is more than happy to make as much money off of Indiana as he possibly can. If he were serious about his “principles”, he could just refuse to sell Apple products in states that he thinks are at odds with them. At the very least, he could close all Apple stores in those states. But, hey, that would cut into his giant paycheck, wouldn’t it?

You hear about Apple because Apple is HOT in the news. You don’t hear about Microsoft because no one cares ... LOL ...

And, you don’t hear about Android, because someone thinks you’re talking about a ROBOT! ... :-) ...

I suspect there's a lot more money changing hands over this in DC than there would have been in Indiana.

I agree with him though RedStatecom still sucks as a site.

So do the writers. I could barely read it but I did get the jest of it.

Can you tell those Cupertino flamers to stifle themselves already!!!! Enough!!!! Enough flaming aggravation!!! They are giving me agita!!!

I wish I could because I do think it will effect the bottom line of the business. So did Steve Jobs. Steve did not care what EMPLOYEES did with their own money on their own time so long as it did not reflect negatively on Apple. The infamous donation against Proposition 8 that was attributed to Apple in the popular press came from the Apple Employees' Political Action Committee, not Apple Computer Corporation., a completely independent organization.

No, Microsoft does it with MONEY. . . lots of it. . . donated to the political campaigns over the last ten years in numerous places. Microsoft gave money for the anti-gun campaigns. . . which worries me a lot more than Tim Cook writing a mis-guided screed in the Washington Post.

Thanks for your stand and clarity.

My problem is with Cook and what he is doing with his wealth in several states including his home state pushing the Gay agenda on the surface on under the surface.

Unfortunately, the controllers of our digital worlds are far lefties from Apple to Google to MS.

So we have to pick our evil to buy from if we use the digital world.

Again, thanks for your sincere and logical stand in this hot issue.

Don’t buy their overpriced wares, I have an anroid phone (although google seems intent on taking over the world), for my next phone I am considering a Windows, they seem the least worse of the bunch.”

Same here. I have an android for one phone number and a BB for another. When the bB goes I am thinking about Windows.

And where are you going to go? Microsoft has already had the same policy for ten years. . . So have most of the computer companies.

There were TEN TECH CEOs who signed that petition to Indiana's Governor along with Tim Cook . . . but the MAIN STREAM NEWS MEDIA latched onto the fact that Apple's CEO signed onto it because anything Apple does garners headlines and Internet CLICKS. The number of posts on this issue on FreeRepublic show exactly why that is the case! Not one of them has mentioned even one of the other nine companies who also signed the petition. MICROSOFT's CEO signed the petition. YELP's CEO Signed the petition, GOOGLE's CEO (Android) signed the petition. Those were three of the ten signees on Friday. There are more. . . and even more signed the petition on Monday.

Money going to Microsoft is going to pay for the campaign for gun control.

We are damned no matter which way we turn with the Liberals in charge of these companies. . . and those who are entitled to a large percentage of the profits. . . and perhaps even more important those who control the flow of information about what occurred.

Kruschev was absolutely correct when he said "You will sell us the rope we will use to hang you," unaware that it was a longer term statement and the USSR would not be around to be the hangman, but the amoral combination of government and Wall Street would inevitably lead to the destruction of our system. . . all in the name of preventing protecting the profits of the BIG businesses from competition and from failure. "Too big to fail" anyone? Government management mandating business policies? All of these are tyranical intrusions of government into business but are also forms of government sponsored anti-competitiveness that actually protect bigger businesses from the competitive threats of smaller business that do not have the resources to implement them.

How is Microsoft the "least worst of the bunch"? Microsoft embraced the LGBT agenda TEN YEARS AGO. . . Apple only this year accepted it as a legislative corporate policy because of Tim Cook . . . and I have not seen anything showing a vote of either the BOD or the Stockholders, just a statement from the CEO. Microsoft is funding Abortions around the World, Common Core, and the Gun Control agenda with direct contributions. Microsoft gave the Chinese government complete free access to the source code of both Microsoft Windows and Office but also Windows Phone.

Apple has been refusing to do that. . . and has only agreed to allow the Chinese government to review their network software for security compatibility and has REFUSED to allow them to have a KEY to their encryption.
