- A third of Republicans believe President Barack Obama poses an imminent threat to the United States, outranking concerns about Russian President Vladimir Putin and Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.
A Reuters/Ipsos online poll this month asked 2,809 Americans to rate how much of a threat a list of countries, organizations and individuals posed to the United States on a scale of 1 to 5, with one being no threat and 5 being an imminent threat.
The poll showed 34 percent of Republicans ranked Obama as an imminent threat, ahead of Putin (25 percent), who has been accused of aggression in the Ukraine, and Assad (23 percent). Western governments have alleged that Assad used chlorine gas and barrel bombs on his own citizens

Only if you are a moron driven by emotion and not logic.
And visa versa.
Only a moron would be defending Putin and distracting criticism away from him.
You bet! Obama is the biggest threat around!
Pointing out that Stalin had more similarities to Hitler than differences is neither defending Hitler, nor distracting criticism away from him. The left still loves to make that argument.
Naturally, Reuters spins the headline.
Anyone with a normal amount of logic can see jumping on threads about our enemy the Russians and Putin as we are facing possible war with them, to distract those threads into attacks on America, is supporting Russia and Putin’s goals.
Do you think there is a reason why BO told Putin's ambassador that he could be more flexible after he was safely re-elected? Do you think there is a reason why BO has done little more than blow a lot of heated rhetoric in Putin's direction? You seem to think they are actually opposed to each other and not two heads of the same serpent.
We are currently sending paratroopers to Ukraine to train Ukrainians.
The Brits have sent trainers in, Senator Cruz is pushing for us to ship weapons to Ukraine.
American and NATO forces and materials are being moved forward to the East.
A Spearhead quick reaction force is being formed to add a faster element to the now 30,000 man Rapid Reaction force, to respond to a Putin attack on NATO.
I welcome all of these actions.
The enemy within is always more dangerous.
Obama will be gone next election, the Russian threat wont be.
But we’re infested with many just like Obama. Obama enabled the threat to continue.
What a silly comment.
Domestic politics will always exist, but it doesn’t support your effort to turn us from our foreign enemies.
We have to defend ourselves from the Russians whether Truman is in office, or Obama, or Nixon, or Reagan, or Carter, of whoever, and that goes for the republican that replaces Obama in 22 and a half months.
I agree with Ted Cruz and Palin about Russia and Putin.
What a silly comment. Enemies within are always more dangerous than outside enemies.
Walker-Cruz 2016!
It figures that you would be a Walker man instead of for Cruz.
Cruz wants to send weapons to Ukraine and bleed Russia.
Walker 2016!!
It’s a no-brainer. All rattlesnakes are dangerous, but the one inside your house is more of an imminent threat than those outside.
Cruz, not Walker.
I’m against citizenship for illegals.

I definitely consider myself part of the first group. I don't know which, if any, of the later three groups I'd best identify with now.
Remember that the allies also sent similar assistance to Finland during the Winter War of 1939-1940 against Hilter's then ally Stalin.
I'm hopeful that these events unfold slowly enough that this assistance will actually have a positive effect on the outcome.
Neither can I predict the final outcome other than to say that if we fight this war under BO's politically correct rules of engagement, we will certainly lose with consequences far more dire than those which would follow with not getting involved further.
If you support a muscular showing against the Russians, then should start showing it and supporting it, instead of getting on anti-Russian/Putin threads to divert them away from Russia and against America.
