Some of them have been building their collections since childhood. Sen. Lindsey O. Graham (S.C.) is up to 12 now, including an AR-15 assault weapon that he has talked about using if law and order ever breaks down in his neighborhood. Former Texas governor Rick Perry is so well-armed, he has a gun for jogging.
Others were city kids who didn’t own guns until later in life. Sen. Marco Rubio (Fla.) bought a .357 magnum revolver in 2010, the year he ran for Senate, saying the gun was for protection.

But it remains to be seen whether any GOP candidates will be good on immigration. The money base of the Republican Party wants immigration badly.
If the candidate strolls around Capitol Hill strapped with the entire SOCOM arsenal but breathes a SINGLE WORD about de-facto amnesty, then that’s worse than an unarmed gun neophyte candidate who really WILL send them all back.
They think we’re distractable and dumb.

I agree, but there is no risk for them to support guns. Boehner, McConnell, etc. want amnesty more than anything. That’s their no. 1 issue. They would sacrifice anything to get amnesty. They would deliberately make the GOP a permanent minority party to get amnesty.

I unfortunately was 11 miles off the Fort Pierce inlet shooting flying fish and a rogue wave came and washed all 23 of my guns and all their ammo overboard.
