Scott Walker Endorses Path to Citizenship for Illegal Immigrants at Private GOP Dinner
Breitbart.com ^ | 26 March 2015 | Dan Riehl

Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker may be on the verge of burning himself down before he actually gets started, given what is now becoming something of a circus regarding his actual stance on immigration.

According to this new Wall Street Journal report, it’s quite possible a supporter of Jeb Bush, or another candidate went to the media regarding Walker’s recent comments at a private GOP dinner, it doesn’t matter. With three sources now (anonymously) on record, he appears to have Walkered himself right into this one. If his name becomes synonymous with waffling on a critical issue like immigration, his next nickname may be toast!

Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker told a private dinner of New Hampshire Republicans this month that he backed the idea of allowing undocumented immigrants to stay in the country and to eventually become eligible for citizenship, a position at odds with his previous public statements on the matter.

Given the history here, it may now be impossible to know precisely where Walker stands, with supporters left to assume the worst — that he’s just another open borders Republican — becoming the default across the conservative grassroots whose support he needs to win.

Why do I need to actively seek them out?

You give them 90 days to get their affairs in order and then be out of the country. After that if you’re here illegally, you are charged with an “A” felony. and deported. Prohibited from returning...ever. If you do return and are caught here illegally again, you’re eligible for the federal death penalty.

As for applying for resident alien status, they can get in line like everyone else. It’s not a hard concept. I fail to see why these trespassers should be given some special dispensation for their crimes. I don’t care that they have paid taxes using a stolen SSN or anything else. They are here ILLEGALLY and are not eligible to work here anyways so screw them.

They need to GO HOME and if they want to come here, the first thing they can do as prospective citizens, is follow the law. Not have their first act as prospective citizens be breaking the law by illegally entering the country.

Yes, he did. I hope he learned something.

We cannot survive as a nation without stopping the inundation of illegal aliens.

The deportation issue is highly misleading. Politically speaking, it would be a mistake to engage in a mass deportation program. The press would have a field day publishing photographs of the poor children being loaded onto buses and they would immediately draw a parallel to Nazis loading up cattle cars.

Self deportation is the simplest, most humane method and it is both politically and economically a lot smarter. It would take little or no new legislation, just robust enforcement of existing laws. It would of course be even better if some or all of the social welfare programs were eliminated for illegals, except for the most essential emergency services.

Scott Walker—DEAD! (Knife in table.)

Seriously, some delegation needs to go to Walker, like the delegation from the Hill to Nixon, and just inform him quietly that it’s over.

The Dems tried that in Wisconsin, and he whipped ‘em.

(did I mention he ran 7 points AHEAD of Romney in 2012?)

Citizenship if they register and prove who they are, go to the back of the line behind all legal immigrants, pay a fine and forfeit and Social Security earnings they may have paid in while illegal and have no right to vote for 20 years. I’d also add that any conviction of a felony prior to being granted citizenship means instant deportation for them AND their family. For illegals who do not register I would advocate detention in camps in remote areas with only the basics of food, shelter and medical care where they will be held prior to their deportation.

I have the same suspicions. Bush and the GOPe have done this before. If he did say that and that was the real meaning of what he said then he will be diminished as a viable candidate. That said, the GOPe and their democrat compatriots will say and leak these kind of distortions and lies to clear the path for the GOPe candidate of their choice.

I’m behind Cruz, but I would wait and see if this is really true or a distortion/lie.

This is not good. Three people have corroborated to the WSJ that Scott Walker is flip-flopping on a path to citizenship for illegals, denouncing it publicly but supporting it at a private dinner. Least Jeb was out in the open. I like Scott Walker but this isn’t going to go over very well if it’s true.

If Scott Walker is pandering publicly to us in the ‘no amnesty’ crowd and telling the truth to private donors, then he’ll pretty much guarantee that I won’t be able to support him.

Geez, does ANYONE.... NOT.....support “path to citizenship”???

Bump!

I don’t know.

Wish Jeff Sessions would run, because he has been passionate on this issue. 3-Minute speech sums it up.

I don’t mean that I think he can’t win. I mean that I don’t want him to be nominated. Too much compromise on the Invasion.

People who came here ILLEGALLY should NEVER have the right to vote.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe that even ex-fellons who have served their time don’t get the right to vote.

When I went to the Tea Party rallies in the winter/spring of 2011 at the Wisconsin Capitol in Madison, Walker never showed his face. There were only about ten thousand of us against 100 thousand union goons. Those that showed up were the Tea Party. Cesar ‘Walker’ Chavez was never a Tea Party American patriot to begin with. Fast forward to today, and it is now evident he is sabotaging the Tea Party with his support for the Chamber of Amnesty.

I agree with you. Alabama forced the illegal invaders to self-deport, and it worked!

Alabama official says tough immigration law leading to ‘self-deportation’

"Scott Walker’s camp says he opposes ‘amnesty,’ blasts report

The Walker camp quickly countered that the story is erroneous.

“We strongly dispute this account,” said Kirsten Kukowski, a Walker spokesperson. “Governor Walker has been very clear that he does not support amnesty and believes that border security must be established and the rule of law must be followed.”

“His position has not changed, he does not support citizenship for illegal immigrants, and this story line is false,” Ms. Kukowski said."
